So, is it just chicks that play soccer in the US? If so, why?

Because they actually win at women's soccer.

But, I guess the real tell tale sign of national interest is how the men's team does in a sport...unfortunately.

because little boys play little league, midget football and kiddie hockey.

Little girls of the generation that are coming through and kicking butt pretty much had t-shirt league soccer or midget cheerleading as choices.

Amazing but true.

Personally I find soccer only slightly less boring than competition knitting and slightly more boring than watching paint dry.
