SilverTab did you get fucked by him on Ebay too? How long has it been since your auction closed? My friends auction closed in early June and hasn't been able to reach Gary, after payment of course. It was only $56, but for a college student that can be quite the hit.

Gary was swift enough to make everything trace back to Tom as the scam artist instead of him. My friend was ready to file police reports on Tom until I caught wind of the situation and realized that it was Gary's email address receiving the money, just under Tom's account.

To top it all off, Gary talked to a few auction winners while impersonating Tom. He used a Hotmail address using Tom's initials and the last few digits of his SSN.

Is this fucked up or what? Tom is royally getting fucked over and Labret is taking quite the hit as well. I'd love to find out that this was just a huge misunderstanding, but after 7 weeks worth of auctions and the fact that Gary is never around makes me think otherwise.

My friend was getting the hard cover boxed set of Harry Potter. But with other people there have been some much higher ticket items involved.

Ok I was going to wiat till tonight, im going to the police dept in the morning cause the dect's are not working today. but Gary contacted me and hired me to help him run his webmaster program,I did for two weeks he paid on time, I have known gary for 2.5 years and finaly met him in Montreal, Just before that show he asked if i had an ebay account i told him yes i do, but i dont use it, he stated he would give me 5% of all sales he makes while using my account, I trusted him knew him so of course I did this LIKE a dumb ass, never even crossed my mind that something like this would happen, well money started rolling in and he asked me to take out the money and fed x him the money, I did I got the fedX to prove I just did this and NO complaints as of yet, then the next thing i know compaints after compaints started comming in!
SO I started emailing gary he stopped responding and had his wife resond to me, Here is the emails

to line up another supplier, the supplier we had has vanished, phone is
out of service, and they haven't responded to my emails. We are sending
out money orders on a daily basis to cover some of the refunds and will

you did say that this guy was sending out emails with your name in the signature. i dont know if this will help, but see if you can get a hold of those emails for it will state where they came from and give it to the detective who is working on your case. i do think you will be cleared of this, especially since other people were involved like you. it's just a pain in the ass to have to go thru this, i know :(

What really sucks is I allowed this to happen to myself, my site was doing awesome converting great still is but im not getting paid for it, acpay sends to my paypal and paypal holds and and sends the money after 10 days to the people that paid my account money, ive got tons of orders that were prepaid for via paypal so now im working for free cause I WONT let these clients down..... im so backed up right now with these orders i can not do anything else to try and pull a head of the game again. things were going so damn good after the vegas show then poof i screw up and basicly gave everything ive worked for away. Well I have no problem helping out and will continue to help out any way I can Tom. Hopefully Gary will stand up and take some responsibility for the bullshit he's dealing with your life. Hopefully he will remember that you have a home and children to look after as well, and realize that ruining your life isn't worth it.

Tom you should have another form of payment setup besides PayPal anyway, it's too unreliable. Start taking checks, money orders, and join a few other PayPal like programs. I've heard good things about StormPay, might want to check into them.

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket. I personally refuse to take payment via PayPal, they're just too shaky. I'd rather risk getting a rubber check than putting my life in PayPal's hands.

I'm doubtful about stormpay given current Visa regulations...they accept adult and MLM transactions. Their whole system is sheisty.

http://www.c2it.com is a service from Citibank, they are decent. Last time I used them domestic transfers were free, now I'm not sure.

I'd also look at Yahoo's payment service.

It sounds as if you are caught up in a hell of a mess/scam...if you have not already done so...I would advise you to get legal counsel immediately...as it sounds as if it all has been laid on your doorstep...and at best you are going to be, at least in part, liable for whatever consequences may come from this.

i'd consider giving them the benefit of the doubt, that bad luck screwed up their little Ebay business ......... but when you pay somebody to use his Paypal and Ebay accounts you know something weird is up .... either they'd been banned by Ebay and Paypal for previous scams or they deliberately used Tom as a fall guy for this scam cuz they targeted him as a gullible 'nice guy'.
