I think a lot of it is perceptual. You think that you feel 18 but you actually don't and you don't behave like it. We all become more tame, more wise, and conditioned (ex. to follow the rules or certain conduct) throughout life without realizing it. You wouldn't do the same idiotic things today that you would when you were actually 18.

With the exception of playing online FPS games, like counterstrike.

Nothing equalizes language like playing counterstrike. I've seen 40+ guys reduced to saying "FUCK 4ll j00 f4gZZZ" with sufficient exposure.

May not actually make you younger, but sure does suck all the intelligence & maturity out of your skull. That's close enough right? :thumbsup

Like the great Dennis Hoff from Vegas said " You're only as old as the girls you sleep with , So this week I am 26 and 21."

je_rome 08-08-2005 12:45 AM

i like the idea of adding a year to my age.. it makes me realize that time passes and i'm collecting more experiences.

I'm gonna "grow up" someday, but I'm not in any hurry to do so. I recommend that you also adopt that outlook:-)))

[illnet]-Tracie 08-11-2005 01:41 PM

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 08-11-2005 01:43 PM

I turn 35 on Saturday the 13th.

Same thing.

All my friends got old real quick.

davecummings 08-11-2005 02:02 PM

Besides the creaky joints, wrinkles, weight gain, etc, I now don't "Shoot a load" for money shots; rather, I "Dribble a few drops"--and, that's on a "good" day:-)!!!

All my similiarly aged friends, act like old people.

This makes me sad, but not for long.

That is all.

dude, i just turned 30 yesterday, i know how ya feel man, however i feel better about it cuz i'm still having fun w/o wife kids to hold me back and all my similar aged friends act younger than me..

Mutt 08-11-2005 04:39 PM

when my dad was in his 60's i asked him what did it feel like now to be 'old' - he told me he felt the same as he did when he was 4, essentially the same person inside. and he's right - your body changes, you have lots of issues and responsibilities but you remain the same personality i think from a very young age until they cover you with dirt.

there is some truth to age being just a number and a state of mind. depends on your perception mostly. my dad was also fond of saying 'it's not how many years you've lived it's how many you've got left'. nobody knows - only thing i envy with younger people than me is I know the perception a 20 year old has that you have all the time in the world - middle age seems forever away.

20's are great - they last forever it seems. 30-40 goes by in the blink of an eye and i'm sure 40-50 is worse.

Spunky 08-11-2005 04:46 PM

To be dirty 30 again..enjoy because time flies and you'll be 50 :(

I hit 30 about 7 months ago..so far, it really isn't that much different other than teenagers annoy me that little bit more each year.

we're all in the same boat that way whether we're 10 or 70 - though a 10 year old today will surely live on average a lot longer than 75 and there will be some opportunity for a type of immortality through technology - cloning, downloading the contents of your brain onto a hard drive ready for a new hosted body or robot

bean-aid 08-06-2013 11:31 PM
