I've never been in Paris. I've been in the airport twice and Disneyland Paris but it isn't really Paris. Most of my experience comes from places within a few hours drive of Callais. The nicest town was St. Omer (beautifully kept war graves where my friend was helped to find her great grandfather..people couldn't have been better) but even there we had the language thing. We went into a cafe and the waitress was speaking English to another staff member. She got to us and she refused to take our order in English. It wouldn't have bothered me since you can hardly expect people to know English but the fact that she ws speaking it before she saw us ticked us off ;)
