Brad's the type of guy that says what's on his mind. I like it, even when it makes me cringe.

tomorrow the fedral governemt will be forced to do the same,
Iraq and Afganistan ain't cheap.

wait 'till they either start PRINTING money or borrow 'em selling boinds and driving interst rates thru the roof,
doesn't matter how you look at it, it ain't pretty

yup not lookign too pretty..

hopefully real estate will keep pace with inflation :)

How come we never saw you at the show ?
A few people were asking around for ya.

Hopefully we can see ya in January

Lars,
you haven't seen me because..
my financial plan is to invest money in..my memories!

something I can take "with me"
;-)))

I LOVE to travel and rather have memories than a few deal=$$ at the shows...

re: inflation/money
I always worry....that separates me from GFY kids whose ONLY worry is pot supply for tomorrow
;-)))

I don't wanna touch "principal" and jogling $$ nowadays is a hassle with .47% interst rates in the money market

While I believe that teh real estat market is overheated..

I dont see a crash anytime soon. Just more of a pause in the climb up
I was looking for a chart inflation in US vs home prices..

I saw one once but not on a quick google search..

I think it will also depend on what kind of recovery we have if any in the overall economy...

We are ina very interesting economic period. right now...

Lensman 08-06-2003 11:18 PM

Like I said, nice to have Brad back!

I don't buy tresuares...more "junk/3rd world debt"
10-12%,
more risky, but at least 8-9% inflation will be good for them and give them profits to pay dividends, and they are not more volatile than treas as of late
;-)))

for money market I use...KGT, AAA rated short term paper yeilding 5.31%, check them out.

Bush spendathon worries me MUCH more than price of smokes

yes, we are....and the ONLY chart I can find similar to "after the bubble" times is..
Nikkey dropping from 44,000 in 1985 to 9000+ today and...never recovered
;-(((

check them vs QQQ,
VERY similar patterns

Oh yes I am very familiar with that :(

but the one difference that is intersting is they went into deflation bigtime and interest rates stayed very low under 1% while our rates seem to be climbing up. I dont know if you can have rising interest rates and deflation at the same time.. But I dont think that you can. So that is one difference..

not really...
Reagan raised the rates to 22% to fight Carter' inflation and succeeded, at the price of 11% unemployment.

Low rates lead to inflation, high rates lead to deflation,
but...
"we are living in intersting times"
and your guess how it all pans out is as good as mine

Serge serious question.. What do you think will come on interest rates over the next 18-24 months

I have been pursuing refinance and morgage stuff but if rates rise it could all be a waste of time..

honestly????

I don't know!!!

one one hand they should go up due to the DEBT of USA government and it's desire to print money like there is no tomorrow,

on another,
economy IS sick and this should keep them down...

YOU make the call of which scenario is more probable...
