Your right. My parents taught me how to work and earn my money, which is what I have been doing my whole life. At age 18 I had my own car, own home, and a pretty nice savings. I have been working ever since and supported myself.

If we find out he's full of shit, a lot of us will feel a little stupid.
If we find out he's telling the truth, you and that other dude are gonna feel like complete assholes., and FOR NO GOOD REASON.

As for begging, I can't think of a better place than here -- there are lots of millionaires roaming these halls, any one of whom could turn this guy's life around in a second without even missing the cash.

It's pretty easy to get on at Mcdonalds. They will only work you 8 hours a day which leave 8 more hours a day to work at Burger King. 80 hours x $8 an hour = $640 a week before taxes. That's what I'd be doing before I started begging for money.

But lets say he gets a job today, he wont get paid for another 2 weeks, and by then he would have lost a lot of shit..

He was basically in a slump so he had no choice but to come here and beg.

I find it really hard to believe that anyone would post such strong negative opinions about someone they don't even know on a message board if they don't feel that way in "real life" or whatever you call your non message board life.

Just imagine for 1 second that's it is all 100% true. So that would mean that you just bashed a guy who lost both parents to cancer, raises his younger brother all by himself and has no job or money. How do you think you made him feel?? How would you feel if YOU were in this situation? Hasn't he been through enough already?

chosing not to help at certain places isnt bad karma, there are people in this would who help at the wrong times and it creates problems, helping is not always the best thing to do.

Rictor I agree but you also need "tide over" money. Money for gas to get back and forth to the job(s) and food to eat until the first paycheck comes in. (Money to tide you over.) Which is usually 2-3 weeks depending on how the pay period runs, what day you got hired on, and all that happy crap.
What really sucks is when they pay every two weeks and you get hired on the day that makes it so you won't get your first check for a month because accounting does everything one pay period behind.

He did say that he spent the morning filling out applications for all of the local burger places and such.

I don't understand...if you start getting checks 2 weeks after you get a job, shouldn't they still owe you 2 checks when you get laid off?
