If you have decent graphic skills...create quailty tgp gallerys and use content from the affiliate programs that offer content to promote ther sites. Either learn how to submit by hand to tgp's or use a service like DrinkingHard provides. With the money you make from the galleries, use that money to buy content and work on one paysite at a time. From there promote your site via tgp's going to your site, buy traffic from places like spotbrokers..etc...and then use that money to keep the project going.

Good points. I've been thinking of having the site redesigned and from what I have seen there are some great designers that hit here. Still looking for some better mousetraps to promote though. No ICQ here... it's bad enough going through e-mail.

I think its a combination of both. You have to show on the outside of your site and in the tour what they are going to get. I find alot of sites will try to lie about what they have to suck you in.

But then on the other side you will always have that fuckin idiot that will stay a member for a year and then scream he didn't know it was a recurring membership

What backend do you suggest (hosting, cc processor) and where can I buy some good exclusive content?

How much do you think it will cost to:

1. get a paysite up and running and ready to signup its first member (initial content, setup fees, etc)

2. What are the monthly costs for upkeep (content updates, hours required, etc)

Yep, those are my domains so far. Suprising how many good ones are still available. Been planning a few for awhile but am just really seriously getting around to it now.

Hosting: I would suggest candid, or jupiter
CC Processor: CCBill or Epoch get both you want a primary and a secondary

Question 1 Depends if you can design a paysite that will convert. If not, hire a designer.. looking around 1000-1500 bucks. Content I would say around 750-1000 will get you going, another few hundred for misc expenses.

Question 2 Monthly costs. content... what you can afford but I would say 200 bucks at least to add new picture sets, hosting is cheap so its whatever, your time... depends on how good you are with html... small paysite would be around 5 hours a week.
