Spitting is considered Assault & Battery. A homeless guy was in the news this week for spitting on a cop. He got a 12 year prison sentence for it.

that's why sometimes i don't like giving too coz they are the people who are in need of money or food yet they are very aggressive and rude!!:BangBang:

Call the cop ... Don't start doing bullshit with them because 1 : If they find out where you live and you leave for few weeks they will squat

2 : You don't want shit with the popo for 2 dumb ass that can't get a job

That story reminds me of what happened to me in the spring.

I was on a 14 hour Ferry ( Boat ) ride and sitting in the bar with my in-laws, wife and 4 year old nephew when some guy, 100% unprovked or even noticed before the incident walked up to me and called me a pretty boy, said he wanted to fight and spit on me.

I am not a fellah know for my patience or tollerance but what do you do with your mother-in-law, wife and nephew sitting there.

Instinct made me jump up and want to beat the living crap out of him, then I thought I had a brush with some form of maturity and told the guy to get out of my face, I was not interested.

The bartender came by at the same time and I whispered to the bartender to get him the fuck out of my face before I killed the prick.

The bartender ask him to leave and he mouthed off again calling me a pussy.

I let it go and was sitting brewing and wished I just beat the living hell out of him so I was not sitting there feeling like I should have and sure enough the asshole came back and started again.

I motioned to the bartender to get him out of there and he shrugged his shoulders ... So I told my wife and in-laws that I was going to go to the bathroom, knowing that he would follow me.

When he came in the bathroom I beat him a little more than I guess I should have and then went and told the bartender that
some guy apparently slipped on the wet floor in the bathroom and smiled.

He smiled back and I thought the was the end of it until I went to drive off the boat and the police were waiting for me.

I was charged with assault causing bodily harm and got locked up overnight.

It turned out that when the police arrested me, that other people that were in the bar stopped and explained to the police had really happened and the crown dropped the charges against me.

There is really a sickly feeling of helplessness though when your family is with you and you know that a confrontation may wind up getting them harmed too.

That feeling still stands out in my mind.

i agree with leaving instead of making a frightening scene in front of the kid. let the bum be the "bad guy" - you don't have to be.

i'd let the police know. they might want to move that particular bum away from such a populated place where he will annoy, assault and harrass many. locking him up is pointless, but chasing him off to an industrial zone will keep him from bothering many people.

as far as honor - anything ya can't do in front of your child isn't honorable. to me, it's that simple. if someone needs respect enough to have to beat up a homeless nut, it's just macho bullshit and the sign of someone who needs to "prove" himself - it's not respect at all.
