Fox stepped in to fill a niche. What were Fox's rating before 9-11? Jack shit. Fox was just the first to tap into kneejerk reactionary wasp mentality. If the country all of a sudden swung to the left, Fox would be all over it. Fox has always appealed to the lowest common denominator, and can you get any lower than your typical high school educated flag waver? Where else can you get your daily dose of Springer and then get your news dished out to you in a manner that even your 10th grade ass can understand it? Fox makes it easy for the average American to understand politics, it does not use big words and long dialectics that would bore and insult your average American. Fox is to news what GFY is to this industry. A niche filler. Where newbs and idiots are not welcome anywhere else, they are welcome here. Why? Impressions = $$$ regardless of the quality of the impressions. Advertisers see big numbers on Fox so Fox will keep giving the simple minded what they want. It is a brilliant niche really. Make the news simple and flashy enough to hold the attention of the average American. Dont make it complicated, but rather make it so it is easy to follow. There is nothing an idiot likes more than feeling like he is informed. Like their slogan states, "we report, you decide". Make the idiot feel important, he likes that. Great idea, you give Billy Joe and Scooter the neocon simple minded approach and let him decide? Great idea. Could you image news that was filled with experts in their respective fields having hours long roundtable discussions involving the historical and economic implications and backgrounds of foreign policy? Yeah right, I bet most of you were asleep before you even got to the end of that sentence.

Fox is programming for idiots, always has been always will be. Like a fad, they will come and go. Just sit back and laugh at them while you have the chance. While they sit around feeling smart and blubbering out the new buzzwords for the week they picked up from Fox. These people have been dupes to the culture industry their whole lives, they are without hope.

One of the truest posts I've seen on this board.

Those that don't agree, we can now officially ignore, since their opinion is meaningless, uninformed, and impotent. :thumbsup

Look who is last NPR. aka far left radio network. Its 24 hours of Mr. Fiction types who sit around telling their conpiracy theories and bashing the current admin.

So of course anyone that listens to that would be least likely to believe anything that would help the current admin.

CBS, NBC, ABC are so far left that anything towards the right seems way right in comparison.

You guys have total control of the media. Cant there be a conservative viewpoint also. Are you afraid of giving the right a voice.

If you have a stick up your ass about bill oreily and sean hannity, tough shit. The same network also has diehard liberals like geraldo and allan combs. And Gloria Van Sustren stays middle of the road.

Allan Combs, the spineless punching bag. ahahaha yeah, good example. Geraldo, such a big lib he joined the "liberation" forces as they stormed into Afghanistan and Iraq, packing a sidearm like a cowboy.

And its Greta, not Gloria. She is a legal begal, nothing more. Does not lean to the left.

Why is NPR last? Is that a serious question? Because one, its on the radio. Two, it is hours and hours of ivy league New Englanders who are academics and not radio personalities. The average American would fall asleep after about 5 minutes of NPR, and not because of the message.

Afraid of giving the right a voice? If you feel that Fox is the authentic voice of the right then you are a bigger dumbfuck than I previously had thought.

simply put you have a bug up your ass because of bill o reillly and sean hannity. Those two popular men would not be allowed on any other network because they dont toe the PC line and would call out scum like the clintons and jessee jackson for what they are.

What burns you guys asses is FoxNews is kicking serious ass in the ratings. So you label the people sheep, yet would sure fucking love to have those 'sheep' back to drink your koolaid.

These two were not around before Bush came into office? Mr Hannity and Mr OReilly had rather long and illustrious careers prior to Fox filling the niche. If you were a true conservative and not some recent fox convert, you would know this.

Nobody that would not tow the PC line was on television during the 90s. The extreme left was not represented anymore than the extreme right were. Where were all the Marxist commentators, where were all the orthodox religious opinions, I did not see any National Socialists or Communists on TV.

We all know why Fox is kicking ass in the ratings. For the same way Friends was #1 for years. For the same reason COPS has been in syndication for 10+ years. For the same NSync and the Backstreet Boys are huge. Huge means nothing. All huge means is that you tapped a niche. Fox already had that niche on lockdown looooong before they got into the news business. They knew who their bread and butter were.

Prior to Fox news, was there a news network geared towards dumbfucks? Nope. It was genius.

Whats your obsession with guys asses? You make mention of them in every paragraph you scribble. Its obvious you're a southern racist with deep seeded homosexual thoughts which scares the hell out of you so bad that you use the facade of the right wing in hopes you will not be discovered. Follow your true path of sucking on dick and you shall be set free.

Fox News is for mullet-wearing Nascar fans. Dolts. Fools. Sheep easily misled by their fear and hatred of a confusing world for the benefit of the American landed gentry.

NPR is for people who can understand multisyllabic words, fully comprehend both sides of an argument and make a rational choice for the long-term greater good.

if you're STILL a conservative after Reagan and Bush Jr., don't get mad at your more literate brethren. Go read a book. It'll ease and expand your mind.

may I recommend this one?
