Dont compare this pocket change shit to what Lars did. I saw Lars make some serious deals and did things right. No chicken shit 'by the post' sig purchases.

He bought from people with a name, with a reputation and not just anyone. I have no clue who most of these tcg people are, its people regging new nicks trying to make 100 bucks. Any one of you hit with what Lars offered would have taken the money. Thats a fact.

I assure you it was more than triple, maybe 4 -5 depending, anything these tcg got, and it wasnt people registering new nicks to post, it was people like Labret, Sleazydream, and others.

You cannot compare the two.

:thumbsup

It's a win win situation, they get their advertising and I get some money out of something I never made money before, so tell me: WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT??

because you're being bought and sold for pennies. As I said I couldn't give a rat's ass about selling out - I'd do it if the price is right, but when cheap ass broke newbies (not casting aspersion to you personally more like poochee et al) are pushing a program and posting one word replies i'll be fucked if im going to join them.

Not really.

It works for me... I have used this current sponsor for years and proud to fly his sig :glugglug

<IMX> 10-27-2003 06:33 PM

The price for buying your "reputation" is just slightly higher.
Commerce is commerce, don't hate on the system you benefited from...hate those who are dumb enough to post ":)"
"bump" "bump x2" posts.

Nothing more needs to be said.

Right on... I would put TCG in my sig whether they paid me to or not. Fact is I've used them for 3+ years since day one and they've always been the best for me. Great crew to work with as well so why not sport them around in my sig. I hardly see it as selling it, rather supporting a company I know and trust and getting paid for it at the same time.

well thats a bit different isn't it? how many of these people have actually used them as a sponsor before taking the money?

Thats great if everybody that was flying the sigs had your input of it.

The real problem is the people flying them just for the money and don't even push 1 single click to them.

Case in point: This thread chowda telling me to turn my sigs off when he's getting paid to make sure people like me thats not a TCG affiliate now sees it and signs up for them.

WiredGuy 10-27-2003 06:54 PM

Very good points guys, but I suppose it comes with the territory for the webmasters that TCG accepted. From the looks of it, they're doing a media blitz by trying to get as many webmasters as possible to sport their banners before TCG 3 goes live. Their goal was mostly exposure and with that comes a lot of heat from those who simply post to get their post count higher.

I only fly my own personal stuff in my sig, or someone's project I believe in and I don't take any money from that...and in my opinion that has worked out better for me financially and karmically *if that's a word* lol

As far as the TCG sig whores...real pimps sell they don't get bought ;)

You do what you wish, if you think it benefits you. However I don't think it benefits TCG at all the way you guys behave on these boards.

I truly wonder if the whole sig program has hurt more than it has helped.

Most of the people posting that sig in this thread I wouldn't give two shits for your opinons...now others I would take everything they said to heart. TDF, WiredGuy, and Juicy being the most notable.

I think it would have been wiser to give these guys all your little quarters on top of what they are already banking.

LOL np man...didn't mean to sound so harsh to the others, I'm sure there's plenty of people on this board who could care less what I have to say as well ;)

But as far as I'm concerned your opinons, suggestions etc regarding this industry among other things even if I don't agree with every single one of them are usually thought out and based on rational intelligent decisions...and that I can respect.

Edited to add: sorry for the Non-TCG sig whores I left out...there are other's on this thread and I value their opinions as well :)

I don't know whether that was intended to be an insult or not, if it was it's kinda rich coming from someone that posts more than me, and if not then yeah I guess. I think you know instinctively that any talk about being sig whores has more to do with the swoit idiots and this newest bunch of '03 registered tcg guys than yourself. It's about anything that encourages newbies to run around posting nothing replies to make spare change not the handful of long termers with actual experience with the programs.
