Hey, breakfast club WAS the 80s! Just because ringwald was in it didn't make it a bad flick. They'll play that simple minds song on the radio from time to time and I'll get so caught in a flashback it feels like I regrew a mullet. :winkwink:

And me personally, I was always creeped out more by Anthony Michael Hall. Nerdy, in that "sociopathic stalker" sort of way.

Im all about the 80's (did I just admit that outload?) Music, cartoon's, movies, you name it!

liquidmoe 01-28-2004 10:04 PM

Event Horizon, I think its one of the best horror / sci-fi flicks I've seen. It's been a while so it may not be as scary, but the first I watched it I really enjoyed it.

Sam Neil is a great actor. I loved that movie. Another GREAT one with him is "In the Mouth of Madness"

HeadPimp 01-28-2004 10:24 PM

28 Days was good, but a little to predictable for me.
House of the Dead was good in a different sort of way. Going into it knowing that it was a video game crossover made a big difference.
The Ring was good... Nice to see new horrow ideas.
Pitch Black was a thumbs up, but is only sort of a scary movie.

Honestly there haven't been that many good ones in the last few years... Tons of really bad ones though.

CamChicks 01-28-2004 10:27 PM

Pitch Black was great and Vin Diesel was sexy as hell then.

I cant wait for the sequel to some out. They've been talking about it but so far no word.

HAHA nice. Pretty good for "off the top of your head" ideas. I have to agree though. The majority of your list is pretty good. IMHO

MUST SEE (True Story) Movie...

pornkitten 01-29-2004 02:14 AM

The ring and return of the living dead I think it was 3?

laura99 01-29-2004 02:21 AM

I liked the movie THEY. Scared the poop outta me. hehe. The dumbest one I've seen lately was House of 1000 Corpses, I think that is it, the one from the video game. Was so stupid everyone in the theatre was laughing. Terrible acting. A "B" movie with a big budget. Pitch Black was good, guess I like movies with creepy crawlie things that are in the dark, can't quite see them but they are there and gonna get your ass. haha.

laura99 01-29-2004 02:23 AM

I thought the Ring was dumb. Well, it was ok, but it wasn't scary at all to me. Thought it was pretty funny when I was walking out of the theatre and everyone was talking about how scared they were and that they were going to crap their pants when their phone rings next time. Ghey! We watched Ringu the other night and it was better, creepier music. The Eye was pretty scary, for another foreign film that you have to read.

Mr Pheer 01-29-2004 04:05 AM

Nobody has mentioned one of my favorites yet?

Humaniods From The Deep

Kinda low budget, 1980 horror film. But had sea monsters and girls with big bouncy titties (not fake tits!)

erehwon 01-29-2004 08:05 AM

I haven't seen it mentioned yet...

Cannibal Holocaust.

In the beginning of this film we meet a documentary team of three young men and a young woman. They are heading for the south-American jungle to search for real cannibals. After a while the crew is reported missing and a rescue team is send from the US. This team gets in touch with an amazon tribe called the Tree-people. The tree-people gives them the only remains of the first crew - the filmrolls containing the material this crew shot during their search for real cannibals. Back in the US we get to see these films. We now get to see exactly what happened to the first crew.

Many have said that this was the inspriation for the Blair Witch Project.

Also...

If you loved Chiaki Kuriyama in Kill Bill, you have to see her performance in Battle Royale (Batoru rowaiaru)

42 high school students are are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food and various arms. They have to fight each other three days long until the last one remains and are forced to wear a special collar which will explode when they break a rule.

Good luck finding these at Blockbuster, more like eBay, but you won't be disappointed. :thumbsup

Oh my god! I was trying to remember the name of that movie! I watched that with friends when I was about 13 or 14 and afterwards we were shitting our pants for weeks!!! I always wondered if it really was a true story or if they just put that in for effect.

I must say I was dissappointed with 28 days later...it was good for a long while then went downhill at the end. Very dissappointing.

No one has mentioned my favourite scary movie of all time....

Candyman!

...okay it was scary at the time!
