Do everything in moderation (if possible) and you'll be fine. I was smoking 2+ packs of cigs a day at the height of my addiction, went 24/7 weed smoking for years and the last time I drank whiskey I put away 3/4 of a fifth and wasn't even too buzzed, that's when I realized something was way wrong..

I just answered no to all those questions.

I'm going to the pub tonight for the first time since Saturday.

It's a good feeling to be clean and I feel much healthier, but I have a long way to go still to recover my body after decades of abuse.

Nowadays I feel 'high' just from being sober, I know this sounds weird for someone still getting 'high' the chemical way but believe me, I know the difference. Hopefully I will turn into a health-junkie so I can tease the ladies :winkwink:

Great news!:thumbsup

That would have been a good question to put on that list.. "when you drink do you find it takes a large amount of alcohol to make you high"
That's one of the things that happens to alcoholics.. another interesting thing is.. say a person quits for 2 years.. then goes back to drinking.. the disease of alcoholism progresses throughout that 2 yrs just as if the person never quit

Drinking a 12 pack of beer a day doesn't affect your work or life? I find this hard to believe. Unless of course, you have ran off every decent person around you by doing this years ago and therefore can't ruin what isn't there already? I can not imagine any scenario where a 12 pack a day is not affecting someone's life...

Unless this guy's huge, like 300lbs+ and already has a high tolerance.

I usually try to drink as much as humanly possible. When ever I do anything it's almost always excessive

I remember what that was like, funny how no matter what's going on financially.. there's always money to score.

i've given up all my major vices.. drugs, drinking, smoking... smoking by far was the hardest thing to stop.. almost a year and i'm still getting strong cravings at times..

I think there is one key message,

Because I have been smoking and drinking now for 12 years, I cant compare a drugless life - its been such a long time that I have forgot.

The fags, drugs and drink did what they were supposed to have done and let me a escape a mad world. But I have the upmost respect for people who have managed to part company with their addictions.

Im trying to quit smoking and also weed, the weed is easy if I dont have the fags, if I have the fags Im screwed. :( 3 weeks was the longest I went not too long ago and that felt great, no head aches, good nights rest healthy.

Any how thanks for stopping me for just one moment and making me think about it
