And when racing, how big is the track and how many total racers average per race. I think I may of found another hobbie. :thumbsup

They sit real low to the ground and are pretty wide, its rare to flip one unless you slide off the track or run up on another kart's tires. The tires are very soft and sticky so they dont slide around a whole lot.

Track is normaly a road course and less than a mile long. But with a decent straight you'll get up to 85 - 90 easily.

It idles like stock, is quiet around town, and handles like a dream. :) Nothing compared to the FURY out of your bad ass American Iron :) :thumbsup

a lot of people bash most supras' hp/tq curves, but as long as its not a drag car its awesome. it would be nice to have 800hp without having your eyes water from your exhuast when stuck in traffic. once i get some money a get one :)

Nice!

I'm running a DOHC 183 inch 6 that's never been opened from the factory, 30 pounds of boost on race gas, hitting 686. There is another Supra my friend does work for that hit 850 rwhp on the factory engine.

Crank that boost up! God, that must be a monster to drive. ( in a good way! )

Speaking of Supras, this is the new one they are working on to get out by 2006-2007

It looks pretty damn hot for a toyota.

I'm really afraid Toyota is going to ruin the Supra... It'll be an ugly ass monstrocity that looks like the Celica, and they'll dump the sweet ass turbo inline 6 in favor of a Lexus V8. Not the same car at all :(

2007 Toyota Supra
On Sale : Unknown
Rumors suggest that this is the version of the next-gen Supra that is most likely to hit production, if at all. Drawing from the 1960s 2000GT, this retro-themed Supra may receive anything from a boosted V6 to a V8, or even a V12 in its top form. Though Toyota deny it, the Supra definitely will make a comeback in the near future.

I race scca every weekend... solo 1 and solo 2 road tracks... circle racing is a little different but easy none the less... let me know if you got a car you want me to race and I will get you high points... I been racing about 8 years... started out with open wheel out here at the las vegas motor speedway now I race on road tracks... but if your looking for a driver that can take you to the top I am your man... and I am cheap.... cause I love racing.... I can hang with the big boys as long as my car is 70% tuned as theres is...

There are tons of these rumors in every import magazine, they're all untrue... Toyota has released some official statements (they're posted by a Toyota employee on Supraforums), and the MKV Supra (if there ever will be one) has nothing to do with all the "spy shots" or concept pictures that are being released.

What do you drive?

TechNtentions 05-09-2004 11:07 AM

I still think that if Toyota doesn't charge too much for the new Supra's, they will sell really well. A 1998 (last production year) Supra is still in the $18,000-$25,000 range.

Maybe if you test drove the two, you would see that the Lexus is a lot better and classier then the regular Toyota but your dumb ass wouldn't even think abou the class part would ya. :321GFY

$25k! I wish.

A stock 1998 with low mileage will get $35k easy.

Granted they were $50k+ when they were new. And the car stock kicks the shit out of most production cars, let alone with some relatively easy mods.

yea the sit ups run much shorter courses, but in the lay downs we ran the big tracks such as Daytona with the road course (just like the super bikes run) Road Atlanta was another track.. as well as most of the other big car road course's..

Most of these tracks are closer to two miles or so, which means the speeds are much faster for the most part. The 250cc I drove was not my kart I normally ran a standard 100cc. on the big tracks we were around 130-140mph. At Daytona it was pretty common to start 40 or more guys in one race.. Gets pretty insane on the first lap.

This is a pic of a kart close to what I'm talking about, but I believe this one is a 125cc and it has less body work.. The one I drove had a bigger nose and better looking body..

This is an awesome image, but I can't see myself laying down like that and racing at the same time. Especially for all thos laps they put in.

well that guy is sitting up abit too much IMO.. when I am in my kart I'm pretty much flat on my back and only my head is sticking up. Mine also has a bigger body to cut down on the wind resistance. The only draw back is, you can't see a lot, but once you get used to that, it's not to bad. :)

To buy a lexus, you have to actually be able to afford a lexus...remember where you're at dave :winkwink:

That's pretty crazy, do you have a spotter telling you who is around you like we do in our Nascars?

no, once you start you're pretty much on your own.. I've seen a few guys with radios but not many. I don't think it would really help much, because at most of the tracks you can't see the entire track from the pits.
