This is kinda one-sided.

Think about it , the odds are a girl with really good webskills will not look good in a bikini . This is just a beauty contest, my prediction Miss GFY will be a model who didn't post much on GFY before the contest and after she wins we will rarely see her again . lol

Well, thats why im not going to whine about it *seriously anyways :)*. I will participate in this weeks competition, and even though im not 5'10 with a huge chest and long legs, im going to compete, and hopefully I last to the next round where hopefully it'll matter on webmaster tasks rather than beauty contests. This is why webasters are voting. Hopefully, they vote on the people who deserve to be in the contest.

well, truth be told, so far all voting has been done based on looks or friendships, it won't be until some skills are required will the thinning of the herd begin, and voting is done based on merit. :2 cents:

But how will you be sure that they are really the one with the skills and didn't hire or asked somebody else to do it for them?

i was shocked that i got booted out in round one and you know ive been around gfy forever and had a decent pic and half of the "winners" pictures were crap. makes ya think. just my :2 cents:

this was destined to be a 'who's the hottest, cutest, prettiest, nicest, coolest chick' contest. anybody who thought somehow installing a Perl script or creating a Photoshop masterpiece or getting the best search engine placements was going to factor in is on drugs. all i care is if the girl puts some effort into the contest and is an active member of GFY. once those prerequisites are met, i hand the decision off to my penis.

I, too, was surprised and somewhat disappointed to see another modeling based challenge. This doesn't seem to be based on creativity even, as the GFY picture was. It just has to be the "best" picture, whatever that means. I guess it's just free marketing pics for the board, and I don't mind that. But ah well.

gripe, gripe, gripe. Guess I should go get some work done...

The contest was supposed to be based on webmaastering skills, at least that is how a lot of people interpreted The woman that wins needs beauty, brains, and participation

I guess cheaters would be weeded out towards the finals . . . it wasn't my contest, I don't know how they were going to judge. I just did not think it was a wet t-shirt contest.

Agreed... I'm a little disappointed at another photo-taking contest, but remember that there ARE many weeks left. Unfortunately some good contestants will probably be gone by then :\

Thats the thing though. I like photo contests...I just with they werent so highly involved in beauty. Bah.

Why? you are a very beautiful girl! whats the problem?

1.) the first week was to eliminate people who could not even follow directions, or hacve any creativity about them.

2.) week #2 was meant to weed out the non posters...

3.) this week is to slect the beauty part (notice it was done politically correct, and held AFTER the posting contest specifically to not hear the bitching.

4.) no one is a clear give me win like week two was!

5.) the contest runs for 10 weeks.... how is it possible to hit all the skill competitions in three weeks, when as soon as looks are involved, the ones with low self esteem start crying the most? was last week a FAIR competition in ANYONES mind?
at least everyone has a CHANCE to win this weeks competition, right? how come you only have to rely on beauty? why not make a pic fitting the requirements but add some flair, like the winner from week one took the time to do?
