This is some disturbing news. I have enough other crap to worry about now this too.

Blahman 06-17-2004 09:09 AM

thats a past ftc case

you don't see the reflection here? if not your blind :)
when your already a target for the ftc, your a TARGET. you and everybody involved. especialy when you settle, your guilty.

hopefully all their affiliates won't be investigated for promoting illegal software and spamming

Jer 06-17-2004 09:11 AM

Tsc, tsc.

If you don't know the facts don't try and guess... this is how bullshit rumors get started.

I say we chill until we hear from the facts from the source.

Blahman 06-17-2004 09:26 AM

go read the url

Whitney is not a part owner of the company.

Blahman 06-17-2004 09:30 AM

Nope, she does marketing.

Did they buy you a dinner and you think they are amazing because you've never been spoiled? Sucker...

scoreman 06-17-2004 09:33 AM

This will be interesting to see what kind of spin MPB will put on this. Rogue webmaster and technical glitch seem to be unavailable...

The chargebacks on those hijacked joins to paycom must have been over 1%.

indeed...

rocki 06-17-2004 09:33 AM

blahman.. whitney is far from an owner... she just a hired sales rep and " if " what you say is true then she would have nothing to do with it so do not assume that she is involved... Whitney is a class act all the way and just because you have beef with the company probably because you had your account closed for whatever reason... i don't know your reasons, but please don't assume things...

come on

you don't know your company is doing shady practices? and it's already settled an ftc suit?

give me a break :1orglaugh

49thParallel 06-17-2004 09:38 AM

Just curious...is everyone sitting around bitching and complaining.

Or are at least a few of you going to one of the alledged Megapornbucks sites...documenting what is happening to your system registry...and then sending off your findings to the FTC.

It takes action to get action.

And now to back up my words. Post one of the offending links. I'll go through the motions, and document the system changes..and make a report as well.

Do you work for the national inquirer assclown.

Do you know Whitney ? Did you ever talked to her ?

Like Rocki said she's a rep, handles the affiliate program and does a damn good job at it...

AND

Like Adrian said, let's wait to see how this is going to get handle by the law because we are all just a bunch of webmasters that are beleiving what they reading. And lord knows most of the webmasters here are so fucking gullible...

BTW Did I tell you I fucked president Bush daughter last night

49thParallel 06-17-2004 09:46 AM

Of course...as always...there is a certain irony to this.

Many of the people who are complaining about alledgedly losing their commissions due to redirecting, are the very same people who freely promote websites that scam the consumer...ripping them off of their hard earned cash.

This includes "the penis pills" (really, are any of you really that stupid to think that an OTC pill can cause localized skin and organ growth). And then, my favorite Adult Site scam. (Which virtually all of the majors on this board employ). The "amazing rebilling trial". You know, the one where you get a 3 day trial....and some where a couple thousand words down in the T & C's you will find the clause "must be cancelled at least 24 hours before end of trial" to avoid rebilling. Throw in a couple of rebilling cross-sells, and the surfer could be in for quite a surprise come CC statement time.

Yep, the scammers being scammed. Somewhere along the line, the sympathy kind of disappears....

dude sometimes i'm last to know we even have new sites out... give me a break... you are just attacking them because of something personal between you and them... it shows in your posts... if it wasn't personal with you then you would agree that you shouldn't assume a sales person may or may not be involved...

FYI--You can download ad-aware and it removes all unwanted programs...

Sorry...not really interested in reading all of the posturing and whining above. How 'bout you save me the time, and repost the link.

And I am referring to one of the links that alledgedly installs the adware, spyware, redirection code.

Odie 06-17-2004 09:59 AM

I don't know who runs I-look but I had it auto-installed on my damn pc a few months back and I couldn't do ANYTHING!! I took over where I went and what I saw..I ended up having to reformat my pc completely to get rid of it..what a pain in the ass!!!

As for MPB, Whitney is awesome and knows her job and does it well...just b/c you're a sales rep doesn't mean you know everything that your company does or is involved with.:thumbsup
They are a solid program and I continue to do biz with them!

PLUS, the surfer who visits my website doesn't own the adspace on my website, I OWN THE ADSPACE ON MY WEBSITE, and anyone who tries to overwrite my ads with theirs or steal my traffic is a thief plain and simple.

you cannot write a contract withh anyone that overrides the leal ownership of another companies trademark, thus any terms and conditions are void and meaningless as the origional company on trademark issuse would have to agree to the contract.

Well, that is not exactly true, it doesn't remove them all. I currently have to use THREE to keep all the crap at bay. I have yet to find one that removes everything, so I end up having to run 3. I do spybot first, then I use Ad-Aware and finally i use Spyhunter that is the only one that I have found that can locate and remove a few of hexkey problems/registry problems the others try but can't remove

Tom_PMs 06-17-2004 10:19 AM

Shit like this is why I'd settle for 30 or 40% revshare, PROVIDED I'm not also fucked up the ass in the process.

49thParallel 06-17-2004 10:20 AM

After letting the other spyware programs get the easy stuff, hijackthis is by far the best program you can use. And it's free.

But you really have to know what you are doing.
a) Take a look at the Scan results.
b) Then, do a search on google for any entries that look suspicious. If it's a known trojan, 99% of the time there will be data on it, and instructions on how to remove it completely.

What Rocki is saying is absolutely true. A lot of times I know about their newest sites and projects way before their sales reps do. Hell I've been working with JB on TCG 3.0 for over 6 months before it became public or even before the sales reps had access to it. Like Rocki said, don't assume sales reps are in the know about the backend operations of their businesses.

Thanks Misty.. So far it has been great for me.. At least everytime I log in I don't have squire.com or zestyfind.com as my home page.. I kept going into my add/delete programs and couldn't find the shit.. At least ad-aware got rid of it for me!!

True to the norm..I have posted a couple of times above asking anyone to provide me with a link that will download the "alledged" scumware to my computer. But, as always, the paper-tigers on this board prefer to sit and bitch...

All words...no action...the catch phrase for GFY.

here is a link to uninstall the I-lookup toolbar

http://www.i-lookup.com/faq.php

How is it that you had to Reformat ??

I don't believe it when people say they got this stuff on their machine without knowing.

Just surf some of the TGP"s out the and see how many times you will be attacked by downloads. If you don't know what you are doing then you get infected.

Blahman

You are a fucking tool. Get a clue. If you are going to bash people have the balls to show your identity. Or are you too scared people will find out you are a 17 year old kid living in Moms house and jumping on the bandwagon like half the people on GFY?

And everyone knows how I feel about assclowns attacking my friends, especially girls... :BangBang:

AsylumN 06-17-2004 10:50 AM

MegaPornBucks, I use to respect you guys, but rest assured what respect I had for you has now been replaced by contempt.

As of now I have taken down all MPB links on all my MGP and TGP's and will not be sending any traffic to them, ever again.

What a bunch of crooked people. I urge everyone else sending traffic to them to do the same. Every surfer they fuck is a surfer the industry loses. Those people are not gonna be buying memberships anywhere else.
