Sleazy and Quiet, which satellite or cable TV provider are you using to watch the HDTV channels?

And which HDTV terminal are you using?

Stewie 07-08-2004 01:56 PM

Damn that's beautiful

Corleone 07-08-2004 02:09 PM

wow thats a nice screen :glugglug

Matt 26z 07-08-2004 02:14 PM

What happens with these widescreens if you are watching something not formatted for them?

I notice in stores they just stretch the picture, so it looks goofy. Is there an option to add bars to the sides of the screen so it's like normal?

Tom_PMs 07-08-2004 02:18 PM

Yeah you can press the button and get 4:3 aspect ratio. Or usually you can Zoom it to level 2 but it cuts off the very top and bottom (bottom cuts off perfectly the scrolling crap on CNN for example of how much it chops while Zoomed).

BlueDesignStudios 07-08-2004 02:19 PM

that's an awesome tv :winkwink:

those extra 5 inches make a HUGE difference in price, a 50 inch is only 7k.

I'm shopping around to find one that fits over my fireplace, going to enclose it in a wood frame :)

Is the glass stand separate from the cabinet underneath? I'm looking for something similar to put on a dresser top in my bedroom... but the LCD tv on top of it and the cable box, dvd player etc. underneath.

why clutter up your dresser in the bedroom - I just bought a unit that alowed me to hang the tv from the wall up high -plus your feet never get in the way of watching tv at night. - the dvd hangs under the tv too. - i need my dresser space for all my crap - the TV would take up too much room.

not to mention lcd was only like $6K (ok, $10K with audio equipment) and the same 60" sony plasma was $30K...

The current plasmas have a life span of 30.000 hours, the new Samsung models have 50.000 hours

I believe Sleazy's is LCD rear projection. (or maybe it's DLP rear projection?)

Still an awesome TV.
