And as to AIDS, everything I know about it tells me that AIDS can be transmitted through any contact where bodily fluids mingle. If the chance of transmission is low, one has to bear in mind that 1% of the time SOMEONE is going to get it and that the chance of someone getting it is a function of the frequency and variety of sexual contacts. We've all endured instances of very bad luck, which should tell us all that if we tend to take chances in the area of sex, sooner or later our day will come.

well our day is gonna come anyway ... but you're right, there is always a risk ... I said the HIV/AIDS virus won't be transmitted through oral sex even tho she swallows but that's of course unless she happends to have any sores in her mouth or troat or whatever ... in that case it's another deal. always a risk ... less sex more drugs! |
I'd be more worried about Hepatitis.. it can live outside the body for up to 14 days, survive a load of laundry in the washing machine and new strains are being found constantly.
|
oh, another note that you might find useful, if you know you have herpes, you may want to lay off the casual sex when you are having an outbreak, even if you are using protection... not just for the safety of your partner. Herpes sores basicly expose the exact membranes and whatnot that HIV attacks. I've heard various statistics, but you are something like 80% more likely to get HIV from an infected partner if you have sex with them while having a herpes outbreak, scary stuff.
|
hepatitis can be caught as a side-effect from certain medications even.
but yeah the Hepatitis C virus is quite nasty, and it seems to be moving around quickly and surviving better then some of its competitors. although as far as I know it's hitting drug addicts mainly, although that's pretty much the case with any virus over here since there are a lot of needles being passed around. right now I'm more worried about "soriasis" er whatever it is called in English, cause that seems to be going around a lot over here. |

Your fucking joking right? It's in the blood supply still to this day. First aid courses teach never touch anyone without gloves, better off letting them die because they are estimating about %25 of all people either have it or are carriers for one of the many strains and versions. Something to think about when giving the next dirty sanchez. |
ehm yeah don't drink the blood.
I think in general people are learning to be very careful with all that stuff, but I can only speak about the situation here in Sweden. |
NOT TO BE RUDE OR ANYTHING BUT IF YOU GUYS ARE HANDLIN BUSINESS AS MUCH AS YOUR SAYING.. THEN OPEN A BOOK AND EDUCATE YOURSELF ON DIFFERENT STD'S.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU WERE TESTED? AND HOW MANY CHICKENHEADS HAVE U HAD SINCE THEN? |
THEFLY, the 1% change of spreading it without an outbreak is because of two factors
1) some outbreaks are so small you can't see a sore 2) sometimes just before an outbreak, the virus is present on the skin. if you know your reccurance rate well, and you know what it looks like and where it is, you can eliminate that %1 easily. The most important thing is for everyone to get tested. Something like 1 in 4 americans have some level of herpes, and only 1 in 10 know about it, hell 1 in 2 will get some kind of std in their lifetime, as long as you get it identified and treated you are in much better shape, I get tested 1 a year, if I've had more than 1 partner in that year, I suggest you guys do to... it can only help. |

2 Forms of herpes.
Type 1 - Herpes Simples AKA the common coldsore. Yes ladies and gents, the coldsore is actually herpes. It's not type 2, the STD, but it can still be transmitted orally (kissing somone) or orally -> genetalia. Type 2 - Herpes Complex The std, this is nasty. As before can be transmitted orally. You can get these on your face as well. Once you've got herpes, you're fucked - there's no cure for either. Stay safe. |
