I think if we can lock in some serious sponsorships early, it's Ludacris or LL, maybe 213 and less tunes. A little more money will get Snoop.

Here's what 213 /Snoop/WarrenG/Nate Dogg are thinking. My agents has been in talks with their agents, I base it on that.

The thing with 213 is IF they each do their solo stuff as well as 213 tunes, it's well over $100k, maybe like $200k, not sure yet until they decide. But if the artists would rather promote only 213 tunes, then it's probably cheaper then if I did Snoop solo with all of Snoop's hits. And Warren G loved our event when he was a VIP in 2003. So I hope they'd take the date for a nice affordable price.

Realistically, I'm thinking the easiest way to secure the artist and sponsors now, money raised, is to do George Clinton and P-Funk. I measure it in many ways. They will take the date and sign a contract now if I want them to. The others, nothing is for sure until they decide. Which means, they could agree in theory, then decline it a month in advance. I can also throw in Ice-T and Digital Underground WITH a live band backing them up. Sounds hot, I saw them do it in SD.

The thing I finally learned after 6 years or trial and errors, throw the deposits down this early and promote it now. So buy a sponsorship now if you're considering it. It helps the talent level. As of now, I figure I can safely get that line up done now and everyone would have the best time ever.

I dont know if snoops guys barter but if they do......

Offer them 35,000 t-shirts with anything they want.....

And I will print them for around 70,000.00

We be a awesome barter for the both of you.

I can produce photo quality print on a very high quality shirt.

Just a crazy idea.....

But I still wanna print your shirt for you either way ;-)

213 would be hot - between the group and all the solo hits they can drop - damm that would be nice.

and 213 with George Clinton -- sweeeeeetness

foolio 08-18-2004 10:04 PM

oh ya forgot -- forget about Cypress Hill :2 cents: Even their last "hit" was a pure sellout and it still did nothing. Cypress Hill is over IMHO.

I'll get the quotes for whoever you name.

If I think or webmasters really go nuts for it, we'll let the boards decide Rock or Hip Hop.

I'll still have hip hop, just add a rock band.

I think you'll find, good rock bands are over $100k.

Or you're stuck with Foghat or something.

Those would be some cool, affordable choices I think.....

All are good choices, here's my initial thoughts.

N.E.R.D. - great choice, very expensive. I'll get a price still and see what they want. Last I asked, it was in the $100k range if my memory is correct, but I'll double check. Either way, I'd do Ludacris first if it's in that range.

Third Eye Blind - Not sure it's something that will pump up the crowd and totally rock, plus they're probably also $50k or more, maybe $100k or so. If they were $30k or under, good deal as another artist on the ticket. Worth looking into, but not my top choices unless webmasters really speak up on that one.

Queens Of The Stone Age - that would rock, worth looking into, my guess is they'd want least $75k or more, at least. If they would take the date. I'd still do Ludacris or the others first.

311 - One of my favorites, not sure how much, I'll look into them IF they're still together. No idea their price, my guess is over $60k

I like suggestions, everyone is welcome to throw some out.

Smut 08-19-2004 01:36 AM

Don Magic Juan - Guest appearance
Chingy - Definitely
DMX - Good choice
Ludacris - :thumbsup
George Clinton & P-Funk- Fo Shizzle
Deelite - And all her funkness
Cappa Donna - MmmHmm
Method Man - He's got a TV show

I'm sure I can think of others. I'll add more later.

CyberTraffic 08-19-2004 02:05 AM

D$, you have mail NOT related to this thread, but to the PB.

Thanks.

s9ann0 08-19-2004 03:45 AM

cayne 08-19-2004 04:22 AM

N.E.R.D. is def. a very nice choice.

nofx 08-19-2004 04:27 AM

For Queens of the Stone Age, they might be a lot cheaper. Speak with Josh, he says they love parties and girls so much that if anyone invites them to house parties they'd play them free :thumbsup

I hung out with them in their trailer of Lollapalooza last year and almost got them to come play a party I wanted to throw for my bday in Montreal, but they were already playing Montreal that month and would be touring elsewhere at the time I wanted...

Still, I think if they are into it, they wouldn't charge much at all.

Jman 08-19-2004 10:50 AM

Yo D$ can't wait fo this one... Get that woody done I am going for PIMP of Da Year :1orglaugh

BTW where's my radio and reggae... Can't do work without the tunes ...

Let me know if you need any help at all. Me and Chandie would be delighted to give you a hand

Cypress Hill homie :glugglug

CyberAgeGary 08-19-2004 11:34 AM

I have enjoyed every single one of your parties d $... How about getting System Of A Down?

We can get a mosh pit going and everything, what do you think?

D-Money 08-19-2004 12:23 PM

OK, I'm like a waiter taking peoples orders over here.

I just wrote to my agent the following.

Get prices on

311
Queens of the Stone Age
System Of The Down
N.E.R.D.
Method Man
Chingy
DMX
2 Live Crew (just another artist on the bill maybe)

Beastie Boys (doubtful they're the right price)

Super hot on the Cypress Hill thing if you can be agressive and get it locked in now.

Still would consider George Clinton as a back up if things aren't moving fast with other artists.

Ludacris would be a good possibily if he's around $70k ish still.

Now, between us webmasters, I really do love all kinds of music (except for country, I don't gets down like dat).

So if I can do a rock show mixed with the hip hop during the night, I'd be just as stoked as you all. And, for those wanting rock, you'd be a Players Ball fan finally.

I just locked in Gwar as the opener.

Just seeing if Sykkboy is still reading my thread.

haha

you miss my live sessions with audio, it's like crack.

I was going to rip a bunch of CD's I have sitting around into mp3's, once I do that, I'll have some fresh tunes you haven't heard in those last sets. Next week we'll launch the new D$ Live thing and I'll play some music more frequently.

Unless you want to hear those last sets I made, I can re play that again.

milambur 08-19-2004 12:36 PM

Mc Hammer :2 cents:

Varius 08-19-2004 02:05 PM

For System of a Down,

If you offer Serj time/space to promote his non-profit Axis of Justice, you might be able to get them much cheaper...otherwise they will prob cost a fortune.

If they did that, as a bonus you'd prob get Tom Morello (of RATM / Audioslave) to come along as well :thumbsup

The organization is run by him and Serj (of SOAD).

D-Money 08-19-2004 05:23 PM

OK, let's see what you guys would do.

Here's the options and prices.

Cypress Hill- Already plans to play Vegas in Feb and can't book anything else there
Beastie Boys- $250-500k
George Clinton & P-Funk- $45-50k
Ludacris- $75 k + all expenses
LL Cool J $85k
Busta Rhymes 75-80k
311- $80-150k
Queens Of The Stone Age- $35-45k
System Of The Down- $100-125k
N.E.R.D. $75-80K
Method Man $40-50k
Method Man and Redman Package $60k
Chingy- Not Working in January
DMX- $100K
2 Live Crew- $5-10k
Mary J Blige $100-125k
Missy Elliott $150-300k
Xzibit $17.5k-20k
Ying Yang Twins $20k
Obie Trice $15k
Beck $150-250k
Lenny Kravitz $500-750k
Chris Robinson (Black Crowes) & New Earth Mud $35k
Foo Fighters $80-150k
Red Hot Chili Peppers $150-250k
Tenacious D $50-60k
Weezer $100k
Incubus $100k
Marcy Playground $20-25k
Seven Mary Three $20-25k
Warren G $20K
A Perfect Circle $75k

Let's say you can have a guaranteed budget of at least $75k give or take.

And you can do a bunch of artists instead of one big one.

You be the promoter, what would you pick so far?

I'd love putting A Perfect Circle, but not sure they're right for a party crowd.....

As a promoter, I'd go with this lineup for those prices:

N.E.R.D
Queens of the Stone Age
2 Live Crew

That's $115K - $130K for 3 performances covering diff types of music.

Varius 08-19-2004 05:36 PM

Well for around $75K, lose N.E.R.D and throw in Ying Yang Twins I guess...

D-Money 08-19-2004 06:00 PM

I figured I'd share the planning with our industry so both future party planners and webmasters, sponsors, etc know how much it really costs to throw a big event.

And this is just talent alone. Then you have the venue, if it's private you pay more or you guarantee the bar. Throw in lights, sound, backstage requirements, printing, hard work getting the sponsors, getting them to pay on time, venue issues the night of, etc. It's really a good deal to chip in and let me sweat all of that out.

I'll deliver, it's just a matter of what kind of money is locked in for sponsors. And which artists will agree to that date for the money.

No one has secured the ONLY main sponsorship yet. We're thinking $50k or so. That should get the bulk of the main artist out of the way. Or 3 main sponsors at $20k each. Then it's up to me to raise smaller sponsors to pay for the rest.

Email if if anyone wants to secure a main sponsorship. I've heard from a few people, about to get back with a couple I haven't hit back yet.

darren at marketingfirm .com

Personally, I'd like to have either Ludacris as the main artist and hope to raise more for the others.

Or George Clinton with another 2 artists for around $15k or $20k each.

Smut 08-19-2004 06:01 PM

Ludacris
MethodMan/Redman
Busta Rhymes
N.E.R.D.
A Perfect Circle
George Clinton & Pfunk
