200 people getting fucked with at the door...

Well, I'll guarantee there won't be problems at the door. It will be exactly like last years Ball, same small venue, everyone gets in quickly.

The idea of the sign by the door is to stroke a few egos and entertain our webmasters at the same time. And the main reason is it's funny. Because the reality is, no one knows if the door guy happens to be one of those asshole door guys, so having a pic of a super VIP behind him sort of assures our top 30 that they for sure can't get fucked with.

Most of my problems were with one venue, C2K. Once I left there venue, we had control again.

Dude, that door problem really turned off a lot of people. It's very hard to get people to give it a shot after being fucked with that bad.

It's not easy to take control of a venue in Vegas. When you get Snoop, Xzibit, Cypress Hill and artists of that size, mixed with being a private porn party, these door guys think they'll make a fortune working the door. The way I fixed that is by using security that doesn't normally work for clubs, they're out sourced. My venue isn't even a club, it's a restaurant/lounge. That's the difference.

We also cut the party from 5000 people to 2000 people. When you take them in limos and big buses, it spreads out the line and flow of people.

Make 2 lists:

1 for the real top30, the biggest program owners and processors and you have everything convered.

The 2nd list for the other guys you do not want to miss... tgp owners, SE guys, spammers, ...

As far as keeping it in the know... That usually means you get 2,000 people. 850 are in the know. 1150 are the in the knows friends, which means, they ain't in the know...

It sounds like a bunch of bullshit, but it's real. Right now is my crunch time is raising sponsorships, mainstream has been contacting me a lot lately which means too many non industry people are viewing the website. If I give them too much info, they'll fool me into thinking they're industry and waste my time.

I've been pretty low key in the sense that I don't send press releases about these events since they are private. Usually I blow off reporters, but lately I've had lot's of UK interest and have been doing these interviews. I'd rather do an over seas interview then a US interview. Party crashers don't fly in from Europe is the main reason.

I did an interview with a US magazine called Grind. They think I've been passed along the pimp torch as the modern day pimp of pimps. Or I'm a rap/porn cross over icon. I think they just don't understand I'm just a webmaster trying to appeal to my own industry, but I'm still flattered they perceive me the way they do. Shit, I'm underground damn it!!!

I would like to be there and I would prefer to not stand in line.

he apoplogized. i'm an artist and have mental lapses too. i guess you need to be an artist to understand the range of emotions when you feel unnappreciated. its a bitch. personally, i had one of those at the players ball in N.O. i had spent lots of time setting up turntables and helping to set the stage, prepping with kid capri, slick ricks dj, and whoever else was there. i was the last dj, as soon as we started playing different music other than hip hop (i was less commercial back then), everyone left. i was crushed. i felt like crying like a bitch. it wasn't me, but as an artist, i took it personally. ego's, emotions, and attitudes are stronger and less controllable with artists. learning to separate the business and the artist ego and emotions takes years to do. i have barely learned in the last few years to control my ego and emotions as an artist. i think alien is sincere. the only one who needs to have any say in how alien should be treated is the guy who got told to fuck off. i think its all good though. people have outbursts. period. its not the end of the world. no one on this board can say they never said something wrong and wish they could bring it back. just my little opinion though.
