For future reference, don't admit to sending a model a plane ticket to fly in for a shoot or even indicate that you helped the model to come to you to do adult work. It's a federal crime to do so.

Did all that by email. she was supossed to bring mom, then it was come alone because she was too poor. Then it was boyfriend, (Hood rat) introduced as cousin.

No, this was a total scam. Had she said she was bring boy, I do mean biy, I never would have sprung the visa card.

But when I get described as a predator with a camera, instead of a poor working smuchk trying to pay his rent. that's when I go off.

Not all OMP models are a bad deal, I do have to admit that some treat it as a business, and do a good job. This is Liz Ashley OMP #39811. She contacted me "Wanting to Work."

I paid for her plane ticket from Houston, she showed up on time, I picked her up at the airport, she was freshly showered, and put her make up on as I drove to the location to shoot. She was pleasant to work with. When I took her to lunch she ordered the cheapest thing on the menu.

That night, I put her up in a nice motel suite, and in the morning, she was ready to go on time, and we shot again. I paid her in cash at the end of the shoot as I took her to the Airport, and she signed a release without making a fuss.

That's the way the business is supposed to work. Unfortunately she does not do Adult Content Work, or Adult Video. But I wanted her to be the Main attraction for a new site I am building, and she did an excellent job for me there. She was also nice enough to let me video tape the photo shoot in the park for a documentary DVD that I made of what it's like to do a real photo shoot.

The DVD makes you feel like you are actually there at a photo shoot, as it combines the stills in the video so you can appreciate the process of what it takes to do a photo shoot. If any of you guys starting off want to watch a real photo shoot, hit me up, and I'll sell you a copy at a GFY Discount.

BTW Liz is one of the bravest models I have ever worked with, she posed full nude in a public park in the middle of the city, in broad daylight, where anyone could have walked up on us. She never balked fussed or complained. So yes there are some good ones out there, but few and far between.

Their are lots of good models and many great models we just tend to hear more about the bad ones. I shoot 15 to 30 models each month and the flake factor is less than 1 %.

I drove a rusted out '78 Camaro for years because I was spending my money on art. Everything went to stuff like film and printing. I had a couple of people over the years try to make me feel bad about my ride. Any model who can't afford to front the $ to get to a shoot and then shows up late and acts like she is too good to get in your car, whatever it is, when you are nice enough to give her a lift . . . well, I voted.

So I'll write less and post more pics.

There's BS alright. The model wanted the $200 a night room at the Omni, (she insisted on it) because she wanted to shoot out at the pool. It's the biggest rooftop pool in Austin.

I was willing to pay for the room becuase I was going to make her the main attraction for my new site, and she was willing to shoot for two days for $200 bucks, as long as she got usage of the stills and video for her new site.

So far, win/win. but when she said take a bus to Austin, she's a little bitty thing and rather naive. I felt sorry for her, and sprung for the plane ticket. Then it turns out, she has the $$$ to bring the loser along.

Had I known she was bringing along a loser who answered her every question, I just would have passed. Had she asked for a plane ticket for mom, I would have done that. She did neither.

It was a scam from the start, I've talked to the other photogs she did shoot with, and she had no intention of shooting with me in the first place. I even know what photographer put her up to it.

I'll settle for seeing her come in third in the bikini contest.

As for the Omni pool, we were going to shoot bikini stuff out there. I do shoot stuff besides adult. In fact I have shot about five hundred bikini contests. The bikini stuff would have been used in the free part of the site, and my portfolio.

I'd like to ask a question of those of you who shoot....
I have been offered jobs modeling, and I feel uncomfortable if I am not given "permission" to bring along a chaperone, which typically is my husband. He doesn't interfere, and usually stays within earshot, but out of view.....but unless the prospective photographer can give me very reliable credentials, I certainly couldn't say it feels safe to go meet a stranger and shoot.
How do you expect a model to ensure her own safety without a chaperone?
I'm not talking about this particular incident that started this thread, but I mean in general....
There is no way my husband will allow me to go to a shoot without him. He's not trying to interfere...he knows I will not do anything he wouldn't give me his blessings for...but he wants me safe. Sometimes it's a drag...I've lost a few jobs because of it; but I am very aware of the dark side of humanity, and I do not want to put myself in a situation that could easily turn me into a victim.

I have a policy that I have implemented in my personal life. If you fuck me over, you get a webpage. Nothing hardcore, just the facts and I leave the final decision up to the reader.

I have no problem with boyfriends or husbands. Unless they show up unnanounced, and then answer every question that you ask the model. I bought the plane ticket because the model said she was so poor she would have to take the bus.

As for the hair and make up, it was agreed that the expensive hotel room was so that we could shoot in it, as in that night, as soon as she got there. I don't know any models who show up needing a shower!

Her hair looked like it had not been washed in days. No, it was a scam, and so far I have had four other photographers in the last day contact me and tell me of similar experiences with this one. She won't last six months.

I have been making a full time living from this biz since 91. I was willing to cut some slack, I always am. But when I get played I call it like it is. The girl is not shy, and she is the one who stomped off when I would not cough up cash on the spot before she did any work. As for her appearence, the deal was she would show up ready to shoot.

Now I can understand make up, but not having showered at least? It's obvious that some of the recent posters have no idea what it's like to put up with some of the talent out there these days. Then there's the pros who are a joy to work with.

From what I understand, many if not most photographers don't like "the man" being on the set. It's very distracting and can make her uneasy when the photographer needs her to look sexy.

James, it seems to me that the bashers in this thread have no experience shooting models, so I wouldn't worry about them.

yeah liquid, you sure got my number. I spent ten years learning this business, been in it another 14, shot over seven hundred models and in all that time I have fucked none of my models. I have turned down more than a few though.

If your going to comment, read the thread first. The model was supposed to show up at noon with her Mom. The only problem I had with the boyfriend was trusting him around expensive camera gear. Like I said, if you don't know anything about this end of the business, you just don't know.

I would have turned down sex with the model, I was there to make two grand in 24 hours, that's what gets me excited. She would have made about half that, had she been serious about working. To some of us this is how we make a living. I get laid on my own time.

I dont care either way if the model's boyfriend is on set. I have shot for Hustler and years ago when Suze Randalls was in the UK used to shoot with her. I have shot for Playboy, Penhouse, Hustler to name but a few. A photo shoot was supposed to be a photoshoot not an chance for the photographer to fuck the model. If she feels easier was her guy on the set then so be it. If anything it makes for better photos as she is at ease and not stressing.
