I don't need to go to Brooklyn. I used to do Steroids myself in my younger years.

Fighting is 90% mental and 10% physical. Rage doesn't help.

What are you smokin? Kung fu was developed by monks who had no way to defend themselves against rufians, so they developed a fighting system to protect themselves. Kung fu is functional above all things. You're probably thinking of Wu Shu, which is a fighting style that is almost strictly for show.

Right on! Usually the guy with the most rage gets worked by the guy that keeps his cool.

kung fu is more like a real life, fantasy role playing game combined with dancing for retards.

You've been watching too many Jackie Chan movies.

Nas7782 10-16-2004 04:44 PM

IN the ring, Tyson. On the street, Bruce.

Oh, and a 180lb Frank Shamrock in his prime would destroy Rickson in his prime.

Road rage is only effective if he can KO the person right away... If he ever does gas out, he won't be as effective... ala Phil Baroni (NY BADASS) He has heavy KO power ( was a body builder, hes roids in him... but once he gases out hes not effective.

You do not know your history about Kung Fu... You are correct it is now more fo a Dancing art (depends what art). But back in the 1860's or later (don't quote me on this but it was around there) it was a very effective Martial Arts for selfdefense. Back then the king wanted to make the civilans happy, and did not want to lose his reign as king (fear that the rebels might over thrown him, ordered to have them killed and run out of china.... Think about it, that is why it's not as effective.

Do you have any idea who Rickson is and his track record? Compared to Frank? Frank is a awsome fighter, don't get me wrong. But the ora of Rickson is not comparable. Rickson is undefeted in MMA. Was paid a million per match the last two bouts (that is A LOT in MMA) and on the streets and other BJJ competitions his record is surpreme.

Vitasoy 10-17-2004 08:11 AM

DO NOT MISS OUT MY FELLOW MMA FANS

Vitasoy 10-17-2004 08:19 AM

One last note on Rickson, so I can rest my case ;)

Other than Rolls Gracie, Rickson was considered the greatest jiu-jitsu fighter of his time. It was his own FAMILY to developed the art in which he trained and among them, he was the best fighter.

I have not seen kung fu displayed before in an actual fight. What I would like to see is if it can hold it's own in MMA... which I doubt. You don't see fighters train in it cause it, cause people know it's not effective in a real fight. Unless someone, can be successful in the MMA. Then Kung Fu will skyrocket in popularity.

KF has never even won a fight in the gym, let alone in the ring. Useless.

It's been a very long time. I started using Deca Durabolin orally because I really, really don't like needles. To be honest I'm not sure what the dosage per tab was, and we never really cycled them properly. I used to take between 2 and 5 pills per day, which was much higher than the actual dosage I was recommended. The pills came blister wrapped, all the packaging material was in Russian.

Eventually I worked up to doing injections by using Clembuterol (sp?) a supposed metabolism enhancer. When I could give myself shots of that, I started doing 3 oral tabs a day and 2ccs of Anadrol (if I recall) every second day. Our supply of Anadrol dried up after about three months and we switched to using Testoterone Enanthate (sp?). 3cc's every 2 days I believe.

I found most of the information at the time from Dan Duchaine's book "Body Opus". He always seemed to know his shit.

Eventually the oral steroids totally destroyed my stomach. It got to the point where I couldn't hold down water. To this day I have digestion problems.

The only other side effect I noticed is as soon as I stopped, I began losing my hair. No pattern of baldness in my family, and bam at 22 I start losing my hair.

I never claimed to be an expert in steroids. I have kick boxed, taken some karate and been in to fighing most of my life. Ask anybody, fighting is mostly a mental game. Being mad doesn't make you super man.

wow, thanks for sharing that. I sympathize with you. I have quite a few friends that have been through similar experiences as they became obsessed with the results they wanted rather than understanding what they were doing and placing safety as the first concern. I hope people read this and realize that its not a game and unless you know what you are doing and have the guidence of people with significant knowledge and experience, you are playing with fire.

Yup. Bruce was 5'7" 130 lbs. Many people forget that.

ShaneRyale 10-19-2004 07:16 AM

Bruce Lee would win Hands Down. He was much more than an actor. He developed his own style that dominated and revolutionized much of what is taught today.

Rickson was one of my favorite fighters, just a shame there wasnt enough of it.
Frank was just something else though, u just didnt know what he was gona do in his fights. Def my fav allrounder.
But I gota admit he did have his bad days.

Kung Fu is 99% worthless in MMA.
Jiu-Jitsu has it doubts in a street fight as most submissions are pulled off with the face or mouth against the flesh, but it will still come in handy when or if you are grappling.

Indeed that is why people should cross train in different arts. Hence MMA ( Mixed Martial Arts)
