I dont know how you could even ask this....
Tyson is the kind of guy Ali would have loved to fight... He is big, dumb, and swings hard. He would be out of breath in 3 rounds from trying to get a knock out with every punch after all of the shit talking Ali did before and during the fight. Have any of you ever watched Boxing on ESPN Classic? George Foreman was a beast. Ali was just standing against the ropes with his face covered letting George wear his self out on his forearms. |

Ali is a better fighter, so my odds are on him. He's also strong and has a strong jaw. But few have the power and ability to connect like Tyson. Whether you're hands are up or not, he'll eventually pop you in the face HARD the second they're not. He'll find that hole and all it takes is one of his punches to completely subdue his opponent. |
An easy way to settle this is just go to your local video store and look for boxing movies and see who has more made about them.
Ali or Tyson... |
mohamed ali, too smart for tyson.

The thing I find most remarkable about Ali is that he could hit you from any angle. He could be side stepping, back peddling or even stumbling and he'd still land straight, hard blows.
Tyson was a bulldog who I think honestly liked hurting people. This man punched through a brick wall in his dressing room. His best punch was that low fake stand-up uppercut. I've seen guys feet leave the ground from that punch. I'm not sure who would win, but it'd be a hell of a rumble and that's for sure. |

Tyson is Stronger but, Ali Had a good reach, good feet/rhythm and good speed. So I would say Ali, but it would be a tight one!

I'll vote for ali. He's the greatest.

How about Tyson vs Clubber Lang:Graucho

50 tough mother fuckers

I would say Ali, Tyson in his prime never had to prove himself against any good fighters, and the good ones were way past their prime already.
Any boxer with real talent has eaten Tyson for breakfast (I know, post-prison) Ali on the other hand worked his way through some of the best boxers, while they were in their prime. |
if you asked 50 boxing journalists or people in the industry who wins that fight, 49 will say Ali and Steve Kim will say Tyson just to be different. Nobody who really follows the sport passionately believes Tyson beats Ali, or even a young Larry Holmes. Tyson had big trouble with any guy who was mobile and had a long jab.
He was a great fighter in a time of weak competition, but when he stepped up to other elite fighters he lost. Every time. Whatever excuses you want to give, he lost, and he certainly wasn't that far past his physical prime the first time he fought Holyfield and got an asswhipping. He was still in his physical prime when he got KTFO by Douglas. You think Buster Douglas beats a young Ali? Ever? Tyson's style was dramatic and that made him look extra extra good when he won, but that doesn't mean it's all powerful. |

2 different fighters seperated by 20 years of the sport getting bigger and more competative, in the 60's heavy weights were lighter, more like light heavy wieghts today.
On a sheer power contest comparing both men in their prime, it is Tyson. As for fancy footwork and the ability to fake out opponents it's ali. But Tyson would have fucked Ali up!:2 cents: |
What would be a really interesting fight would be Ali in his prime vs. Lewis in his prime,
there you got two intellegent boxers, and Lewis just happens to hit as hard as anyone you can imagine (+ inceridible accuracy) Ali would've taken Tyson, but I am not sure about Lewis :glugglug |
My money is on ali. he's a legend man.
