Btw, this thread is proof that there was a time on this board when ONE thread was good enough for an important topic such as this. Nowadays when something big happens you have 25 different threads on it within seconds.

What a brilliant piece of History this thread is.

When you read it just the reply's detail exactly the way it happened emotionally.

A day never to forget cause it is the day that changed the world forever.

It didn't stay on page 2 for long..it was a case of people not reading it as first but once they did and got that it wasn't a joke (remember the WTC had been attacked before in previous years) then this thread became the main thread of the board for a while.

Though, I do remember there being a few other threads on the topic but they were all on different aspects of the same story.

Every time I read this thread again and I see me make this post I get shivers.

My now husband was on the PATH train platform in Harrison waiting to go to the WTC when the first plane hit. Thank god he was running late that day.

Both of us lost a few dear friends that day.

the actual time is roughly 835 am no?

the only reason i remember that is i was dropping one of the djs we booked to play our club off at the airport and he called me about half hour later and said that the entire airport was shut down and locked down and i had to go pick him up.

i was stuck with him for a week, staying at my house and partying for 7 days.

lol.

watch some incredible documentaries last night featuring a stack of amateur video I hadn't seen before. Still blows my mind to this day.

Btw. i saw a movie yesteday, fictionial where the present sat with his advisors talking about beginning a war against terrorism. And they "discussed" the europeans as if they where the ignorant kids that had to be convinced.

Somehow that made me feel bad.

I remember everything about that day like it was yesterday including even the weather which, inappropriately enough, was absolutely perfect.

The world will never again be as it was before.

I remember that like it was yesterday...still too sad!

More people die from starvation a day than were killed in 9-11. While it IS sad, there are many other mass murders and issues that deserve a day more than this. The US Military has slaughtered, in cold blood, more civilians abroad than were killed in 9-11, x 100, and continue to do so, with no day of remembrance.

Get a grip.
