I 100% heard one of the UK news channels reporting a car bomb explosion as well as the other attacks but I've never heard anything about it since. What happened there? Bad reporting?

Yes it was, or at least incorrect reporting....certainly a lot of misinformation that terrible day. :(

When I was a kid, I knew this older woman that said as you grow older, there will be a few events in your life that you remember in almost a surreal fashion. For her generation, it was the JFK assassination and the moon landing, probably a few others, but those are the ones that she mentioned.

For our generation, at least as an American, that is one of those days for sure. I don't know if I have any others right now, but there are a few that are right in that ballpark.

I was 17 and in drama class.

I can still recall clearly what I ate for breakfast that morning.

Assuming you're not being a twat with that question the honest answer is I'd guess perhaps 3 or 4. I was late to this thread as I was on the phone (both long distance and local) and watching the news for much of the morning. But yes, I eventually came on here to "check my people" as it were, and commiserate. Even back then there were several among the chaff whom I cared about.

It's nice to be in a business where many of those who are actually in it care about each other.

Still remember that day. Was watching it in a real time at CNN. It was on local news of course, but only CNN (as far as I remember) was translating it in a non-stop mode.

I had a dentist appointment that afternoon (or maybe the next day?) It was playing on the radio loudly, and everyone was just silent, listening. There was nothing to say because nobody knew anything at that point. That was definitely the beginning of watching 24 hours of news, hoping for something new, even flipping channels for hours trying to find out more information.

You think they were going to break to show reruns of the golden girls?

I remember coming out of the subway at 34th street at around 9:05 and thinking how beautiful the day was, and the unusual number of police vehicles and ambulances heading downtown.

I was then at english lesson with my teacher till phone ringed and someone told her "open TV there is new world war coming" . National TV was streaming CNN then i think. Terrorism really sucks, not just for causalities what is cause but also every time it happen there are new laws which restrict civil liberties.
