Exactly why his contribution to this post is so dismaying. ATK do run some of the best sites out there and there has been the usual quota of dumb posts in this thread. But Donovan's comments remind me of my headmaster telling us new boys we were "so insignificant you should shrivel in the presence of your seniors". I refused to do that then and I won't now.

The original email, while hardly being helpful as Chris has said here it was intended to be, was at least clear. And if you actually read the affiliate's response, it wasn't remotely inflammatory either. Reasonably it should have got a completely different reply instead of one which came over as "How dare you question me, now I shall show you."

I don't care how professionally ATK handle their customers. There is no reason they should not handle their affiliates the same way.

So what ATK is saying is any webmaster that uses ATK that has or submits to TGP's that use a UCJ style script should pull the links? Insanity at it's best :)

they never said that your tgp cant skim, they said when a surfer clicks on one of their pics it needs to go to their site/gallery. simple as that, if you move your mindset from your business model to what they envision as a good experience for their surfers, you will understand

if you can do that, then do it, if you cant, then promote somebody else and quit bitching

atk did not get to the size they are by making stupid decisons, its obivous they feel that those sort of things hurt their business more then they help

and its no secret, its in their terms of service, which you agree to as an affilite
