All sponsors should ban their images from being used for skim. I love it. |

Threads like this make me happy that I don't play at this level in the business anymore - too many clueless fucks play down here.....
First and foremost - it's their affiliate program and their rules - if you don't like the rules, don't use em'. If you think yelling and screaming in a public forum about their program rules are going to change those rules - you should go ahead and set an alarm clock to wake you from your dream. You need to skim to traffic trade - buy some content and make some thumbnails and use a rotating script so that when their supplied thumbs are shown the link goes to their sites and when your home made thumbs are shown you can skim to other sites. Any program that weeds out the truely ignorant from promoting (and over promoting them) is only going to be stronger in the long run... |
damn how did i miss this? i wouldnt promote atk before reading this, and i definitely wouldnt now.

Ive known Goodwill for a while. I use the thumb script he created, works great....
Ive traded traffic with seavirgin, never got any spyware or any other bs from his site, checked it today and didnt get any virus alerts either. ATK is on my list of sponsors to stay away from. Honestly, Ive never heard of em till this thread anyways.... :thumbsup |
This is the first sponsor I have seen do this. Are there others?

2. TGP's *are* a horrible way to generate profits for various reasons. There is even a fine line between the usefulness of galleries for promotion. The only way you are going to make good money with a program and use galleries is a site that is almost exclusively dedicated to that site or is organized in a useful fashion and actually has some function on the web. 3. On the flip site, TGP's can be great for creating "desire" - but only if they send people to the content displayed in the thumb! |
cool - people that haven't heard of ATK before - amazing...
|
edit. was already posted about.

i suppose that depends on what "site owners" u are talking about. sites like ATK are owned by well established companies that DON'T NEED affiliates. sure, its cool to have them but they are not & will not be going out of their way to keep them. its as simple as that.... what's funny is the cats on this board that can't fathom the existence of a successful paysite without affiliates. i think the problem lies in webmasters who think in terms of big "programs" rather than big "paysites". before there were affiliate programS, there were only personally run paysites that generated traffic from anything BUT tgps, galleries & the like. that's the era sites like ATK started in.... they have SURVIVED thru the changes & their affiliate program is simply an adaptation, NOT a necessity. some of u cats that got in this game AFTER the new millennium need to STFU & do some research b4 spewing in threads like this about shit u know NOTHING about. :2 cents: .. |

However I do sort of agree on one point. If you have a team of good affiliates, you don't need everybody on board. You've heard it dozens of times, 80% of sales come from 20% of the affiliates. |
