Along with that you pretty much to have to become a ghost because to generate that will be insane heat. You will be served your papers in the matter of weeks, but I am not going to get into that.

So your best bet is to establish a "real" business, it will pay off in the long run. No need to worry about lawsuits and won't have to live your income day by day.

You are referring to non can spam compliant mailers. Proxy sending has gone way of the Dodo. Time to move on and become legit.

I am high right now.

slapass 01-05-2008 12:29 PM

three years later and i wonder if any of this is still true???

V_RocKs 01-05-2008 01:43 PM

Funny.. I just started getting into mailers lately and it all seems true.

Opt-in lists are "fun"...

It works by installing trojans on other people PC's. The mailers then use those PC's and their unsuspecting users as a proxie to send mails from.

The guys that are making big money from mailing are not doing it on the up and up. They are supporting the very scumbags whom hack and install trojans on our sites.

When you see guys asking for proxies or selling proxies, well that's what they are selling, IP's of infected PC's.

Reguardless if the lists are legit, 9 times out of 10 they are still proxie mailing, which is illegal.

V_RocKs 01-05-2008 02:07 PM

I don't use proxies... I just collect peoples email on my sites and then email them shit like reviews and blog posts. All legit. Free and easy money.

I have been collecting emails the same way but I am wondering what are good sponsors to use? It seems most sponsors don't allow email promo of any kind, even if it is double opt in like the addresses I have.

V_RocKs 01-05-2008 07:29 PM

Yeah... They all say that... And I just pretend I never read that... ;)

You don't use proxies yet you don't adhere to sponsor TOCs? I bet you only send to "triple-opted-in with a verified signature" email as well? All you spammers are shady fuckers, even those sticking shit in my physical mail box. If Dante was alive there'd be a new level of Hell for you bitches.

Anyway, I'll give you one thing, I bet the sponsors really don't give a shit how they get sales though, so good on you, man. Make that cash, I guess. *shrug*

Yea but I was talking about the guys people think of when talking about mailers. What you are doing is more like a newsletter. Sure it's mailing, but you aren't sending millions of e-mails a day.

minusonebit 01-05-2008 11:12 PM

Here is a good place for spammers:

Spam is gr8. Nothing like going from $0/wk to $400/wk in 2 weeks or so. Conversions looking like 1:25...Spending 20mins of my day then coming back with $100+. All the bills paid without ever having to clock in or listen to anyone...damn those were the good old days

StarkReality 01-06-2008 08:16 AM

There is a very thin line between compilant or non-compilant mailing, especially if people don't collect these mails themselves. Often mailers have to cross the line partially, since spam filters often don't care if a mailing is legit or not, etc.

There is a reason why it is so damn profitable: Even if you try to abide by the law, it's still risky business.

TheDoc 01-06-2008 08:26 AM

A mailer that can send 100 sales a day isn't a big webmaster. The sales won't stay, the complaints are high, the trail to converts are the worst in the business.

I figured programs supported them because it was so easy to become a mailer rather than a Webmaster with real skill. So a program could easily get 5 mailers doing 100 sales a day - but they only had 1 whale doing 500 sales a day.

Greed is the drive I guess..

Apologies man... I just hate unsolicited mail / email. If you're just sending "newsletters" to emails collected in a legit fashion, good for you. You must be one of the few not abusing a mailing list. :)

All of the spam I get is illegal, if it were can spam compliant my filter would stop it long before it hits me. :2 cents:

Spammers could all fuck off and die for all I care, it's a pathetic way to make a living.

hahaha... I'm not sure which site you're referring to, but i suck at updating anything of my own which is pretty evident. there's only so many hours in the day *shrug* Somehow my http://v-rocks.confesstojesus.com gets hits, though I have no clue how.

anyway man. again, if you send legit emails and make some cash, more power to you. i just have issues with "spammers", so for my asshole posts in this thread, i apologize if you don't fit the bill, though I suspect others might :)

That's just a line they put on their website to save their ass down the line. Fact is, if you can send sales, there are very few people who will give a shit where it comes from.

chipmunk 01-10-2008 08:25 AM

The reality is...

There are CAN-SPAM compliant mailers and then are spammers. The two are very very different. In the mainstream, compliant mailing is considered very normal and very profitable. This is one reason list management and companies that handle list management have been increasing in recent years.

Mail has gotten such a bad rap on the adult side (as it should), as the majority of ?mailers? are really ?spammers?.

Yeah, a few of them must have been hurting for grocery money over Christmas and New Year's because the penis pill spam trippled over those weeks.

Good thing I have an unspammable inbox. :D

Considering the amount of Viagra and Percocet spam in my junk folder I think people are still making money.

billywatson 03-23-2010 04:16 PM

I can't believe how "dumb" my yahoo mailbox is...and how "smart" my g-mail box is.

rowan 03-23-2010 04:49 PM

Interesting to see some industry stalwarts freely talking about spamming... must look up more old threads :)

Farang 03-23-2010 06:13 PM

Regardless of thread age, you're still surprised? The people who have the power and money to invest in serious spam will still be banking huge 10 years from now. Spam ain't going nowhere...
