It looks weird agreed, weve got a lotta eel here in Holland, sweetwater eel, from the Ijsselmeer the big pond in the center, used to be cheap not anymore, its like $30 per pound, but compared to the Japanese ones still ok.

They used to go from door to door here with eels, one bucket with eels, one with sand, stripped live, couldnt stand the sight, some still do, my uncle had a fisherboat so Im used to the sight, but I agree, it still looks weird, salmon looks a lot nicer...

Lotsa ppl dislike fish, and sushi is something different true, I was brought up with fish and Dusseldorf is the largest Japanese community outside Japan and 20 mins from here so plenty to choose from.

They also make sushi from cucumber btw if you wanna try, or sweet rice with ginger and sweet omelette around it, I always take one for desert.

about 15 to 18 years ago for me, they don't do that anymore. I loved when I came home after school and smelled the mackerel in the kitchen :thumbsup

yeah me too :) we had fish like 3-4 times a week, leftover from the catch of the day, sprotjes schelvis all kinda fish thats basically gone now...

Most kids nowadays only know mcnugget fish lol

I like to get sushi here at the movies. It is great. And cheap.

Usually, the people who say it's "disgusting" are the people who rarely try anything other than hot dogs and hamburgers, or haven't tried fish at all.

But I think sushi, and especially sashimi is an acquired taste. I used to dislike sashimi, but until I gradually became used to it, I loved it.
