1993, as a way to fund seeing Grateful Dead shows, I started with my wife making videos and sending them to Homegrown Video which advertised that it would pay $20 per minute for footage back in the day.

The company was in a bankruptcy at the time... original owner got in over his head with the wrong people... sad story... unless you pick it up from where my wife, brother, and i borrowed money from my mom to buy the assets...

We picked up about 600 titles, the duping, mail list, and some editing gear, and the brandname which has always had amazing cache with the fans for a sweet deal.

The obsession with tracking is great for webmasters who take their traffic seriously and analyze it incessently to make sure that it is being counted and most importantly PAYING...

Using DHD is great and I am happy that you were able to work with them. DHD is conservative like a CCbill and Webmasters enjoy their integrity as a third party gateway. On another positive note, I am told we have the lowest chargeback ratio of all their paysite clients.

I think you mean the award nominated flying anal scene...

Brandname, brandname, brandname.

Homegrown Video is to amateur porn as Kleenex is to tissue. We have been seen on everything from 20/20 and Larry King Live to several shows on HBO and in magazines from Marie Claire and Newsweek to US News Report and GQ.

Most of our traffic is gained through our non-web marketing since our brand is spotlighted on the adult cable networks like Spice, Playboy TV, and HotNetwork as well as ads on our dvds, etc.

The cable stuff exposes us to a huge audience but they are seeing the cut up versions and not the complete, uncut, raw stuff we offer on the site so that is a huge sales point. We update so frequently and cater to many popular sub niches of amateur like cream pie and natural bush so those are another few ways to plug us.

Our site is much of of a community than many big paysites tend to be so we benefit from that fan interaction as well... When you have been around over 20 years you learn a thing or two about how to keep customers happy.

The intent of the original Player's Ball was to give webmasters a taste of what a true porn party should look like. We were trying hard to live up to the legacy created by people like Hefner and Flynt.

There was an after party and two girls were doing a show on the bed... I'd invited Trey Parker and he and I both thought the girl on girl show was pretty boring so Trey said I should jump in to spice things up... and the rest is history of the day that tradition was born.
