BAD!!!! - /home/domain.com/htdocs/admin/../../../../text files. GOOD - /home/essecured/admin/../../../../text files. You NEVER put files in a path that "could" be accessable for exactly this reason... |
All scripts are Vulnerable, I do not see what the big deal is.

Sorry to see this happen :(
Unfortunately, this is the nature of the software business. We've had our problems in the past also as have many many (if not all) software packages. It's simply how the software business is. Glad to see it was easily fixable for the ES guys. |

Profound statement! AlienQ is your man for all your adult internet needs :upsidedow |
Shit happens. It is inexcusable for our server not to be secured properly. This has nothing to do with ES, it has to do with our personal server set up and it not being done correctly by our former server admin. As most of you know, I do not even know HTML, so do not blame me;-) It is a server admin issue, not an ES issue.
With that said, every script, software, etc has holes. Be it NATS, MPA, ES, etc... |
Can I hold the video camera when these two meet?

You should be proactive with security not reactive.
The first thing I did when we got nats installed is hire a top rep security guy to go over everything with a toothcomb. Sure it costs money, and some people don't like to spend money, but its gotta be done. I hear good things about executivestats and what it does, but for the price they are charging you would think that they could have spared $10k for a decent 3rd party security audit before releasing it. |
