with open holes like that, there is no telling how many times the info could have already been stolen by others. Just because Fris is the first to point it out, doesn't mean others haven't already found those same holes and are using them to their advantage.

Sometimes I wonder why my webmaster e-mail accounts get so much fucking spam.. Could it be the sponsors selling their lists? Could it be open holes like this, just waiting for my info pluss every other webmasters and even customers info sitting their waiting to be taken.

all i can say is fris is a great guy :thumbsup

Looks like Fris did you a favor Brad.....

Let's not forget how you posted screen shots of Danzas stats right here on GFY.....

I understand that you have egg on your face and you are a bit embarrassed, but lashing out at Fris is the wrong way to go. Maybe you should be concentrating on fixing your mess instead of threatening the guy who showed you the problem in the first place and quite possibly saved you millions in damages IF the wrong person had discovered your mistakes.....

Indeed. Seems Brad would be liable if this information was taken from his (OPEN) system and used illegally.

I see what you're saying and where you guys are coming from, but it still doesn't answer my question.

Is fris in the habit of just picking a company and doing consulting work for them without actually being asked to or officially hired?

Is this some kind of good samaritan thing some of you guys are doing?

Unpaid exposing of exploits R us? :1orglaugh

DirtyJ_ExtendedMarketing 06-22-2005 10:54 AM

my question is this..
say you own a business with an actual store front. One day you leave the office and forget to close the back door. Its wide open. Along comes a man who walks right in, goes into your back office and starts looking through customer information. He then leaves and goes and tells others that there is this private information in this unlocked, open, building.

Is that legal? My opinion is no.. under our current laws, I would have to say the guy is guilty of trespassing atleast. Then there is a conspiracy law since everyone else was told AND the guy knew he wasnt supposed to be there.. but he was.. and he told other people, while he had this knowledge... thats another law broken...

ChefJeff 06-22-2005 10:56 AM

Forgetting to lock the door is one thing, not even bothering to put locks on the door is something completely different.

Buddy 06-22-2005 10:56 AM

I don't know Brad, but I've seen his board persona and he seems to take great joy at pissing on other people, so all I can really say is that if you choose to live by the sword you die by the sword. But in the end I think these pissing matches benefit the rest of us. NATS is a better product because of the exploit that Brad pointed out publicly. If Brad is smart ES will be a better product tomorrow when he has fixed this issue. Someone needs to find and point out these problems so that they aren't exploited by a bad guy.

Fris has a great talent and I am glad to see it is being used for good! Nobody is perfect and shit does happen, however it is not the problem but how you handle it that counts.
Greg A+++
Brad F

Oh on another note, I have a similar talent as fris. I test out men's sexual skill. I have found a hole or two as well but most have not let me crack that code LOL. If there is anyone interested in a free evaluation hit me up, it is a limited time offer. and CD no, nobody asked me to do this im just a good citizen!!

Brad shaw did.

Since it was in a public directory availibe for any one to see, fris didnt hack or violate anything.

MickeyG 06-22-2005 11:21 AM

bwhaaha Brad u got owned. What comes around goes around and you sure as fuck had it coming!

Dameian 06-22-2005 11:22 AM

Here's a fun scenario to consider: Imagine if those customers were ever able to get together and file a class action suit against fris for violating their privacy *and* Brad's company for some sort of gross negligence.

Now THAT would be drama.

Alex 06-22-2005 11:23 AM

Also.

If i had $1 for evertime someone called out someone else on gfy and said "my lawyers are waiting and prepare for the lawsuit" but nothing ever happend.

I would have so much money i can buy bradshaw three times over.

This is all fake drama so bradshaw can gain back his "ego"
