The DOJ did not propose these new laws to make your life easier. FSC will not get a TRO and the laws will go into effect at midnight. Make sure you are compliant. Don't believe these stupid rumors, don't put your life on the line because of "something someone said on GFY".

I never doubted lensman or his prediction. What I doubt is that the FSC is going to sit and watch other people get prosecuted so they have just that much more mounted against them in front of a judge.

If there was an agreement made between the FSC and the US Govt. it is just that and agreement between the FSC and the GOVT. Are you a part of the FSC? if not you are technically NOT part of the agreement. Will they come after you??? who f'n knows. And no one with an ounce of sense will tell you otherwise. Things have to be worded properly to NOT make people liable.

As far as the FSC goes. You don't want to be a member? that is your choice. But people in this industry didn't have the "predicted" TRO without the FSC. Did anyone else file for an injunction on their own?? who was it??

And if your the type of business person who has been on the tit of the adult industry and feel the freebies offered by programs are something your entitled to, your not going to be around long enough to matter.

The FSC membership structure is VERY fair 50 bucks a YEAR for the individual webmaster. That gets you about 20 minutes with a decent lawyer.

Thanks to Lens for the information, though linking the stay of investigations to "FSC members" only is irresponsible.

I know we want as many people as possible to join the coalition, totally agree with that, but being misleading and using scare tactics is not the way to do it. Preying on the small time webmaster's fears by saying that only FSC members will benefit from this particular litigation attempt is not only 100% dead wrong, but also as manipulative as the very forces the FSC are up against.

When Ashcroft, or Gonzales, or Bush, or anyone, used these sorts of tactics and blanket statements to induce a fear-related response from the populace, dozens of GFY threads popped up calling them out.

Don't stoop to their level.

I'm an FSC member, not as big time as I'd like to be, but still someone in it for the long haul, and I'm disappointed that both FSC personel, and you yourself Lens, are lowering yourselves to a near-propaganda level in order to drive memberships. :(

MAKO, keep in mind the deal was struck between the FSC and the DOJ. I think the words are being chosen very carefully. Not as a scare tatic but for legal reasons. we'll see it all play out.

Let's hope so, I'd like that to be the case rather than some of the previous statements over the past months that official FSC spokespeople have gone on record saying regarding protection in "any" legal event "only" covering members.

Lens isn't guilty of that, I'm referring to FSC reps who started the PR campaign using mis-truths originally. Lens is simply unknowingly trying to help FSC, but doing it in a misguided way by perpetuating the statements already made.
