"I saw them a few years back and she looks like she is pushing 300 lbs- What a shame - they were so hot back in 77-78 when I was a kid, I used to drool over them. It was even more depressing seeing Stevie Nicks a few years back though- I was in the front row and approached her during Rhiannon" and gave her a rose- She was so touched- she invited me backstage :-)) I still have great memories of all the Summers I spent back in Cleveland at the Blossom Music Center One of my closest friends ran it, and I had tix for every show and backstage passes. I saw and hung out with some unreal people- I culd write a book :-)) Long and short of it- Both Heart and Stevie ROCK and all of the chicks are now sober- It's almost like after they stopped doing cocaine they immediately BLOW UP. I just saw Stephen Percy of RATT down here and I almost fainted- He was introduced to me at a bar up the street and he looks like a fat landscaper- |

Definitley have to add the Police
although not really a "British" band Yes they were conceived in England- But Stewart Copeland isn't a Brit per se They really hit it BIG when the States embraced them back in 78-79 I LOVE THE POLICE One of my biggest influences in rock- "Message In A Bottle" Is my favorite song of all time and one I riff on my guitar al the time :-)) what about the Spice Girls? |

Has anyone seen Peter Jackson lately? |

Damn right they are and I was wondering that too..they are a band and are the most sucessful duo of all time and great song writers but they don't seem to fit the tone of that list. Plus I still say Fleetwood Mac are just as British as American and therefore shouldn't be on an American band list. |

OK, I'll throw The Sex Pistols in for a UK list. For all intents and purposes the Beatles should be on the US list. The members may have been from the UK but their success was as a US act:upsidedow |
I really have no comment on this list but i do like pearl jam and Metallica. :1orglaugh

Queensryche on the 8th spot is amazing ..
Watch out for Operation Mindcrime #2 to be released in 2006 .. |
Frank Zappa (and/or) the Mothers of Invention is missing !
|
How can they not have Elvis on there?
They also left off the Smashing Pumpkins. |

and I will add The Clash and The Buzzcocks. |
They left out some good bands...
What about: Alice In Chains Tool Hendrix Elvis Credence Clearwater Revival Smashing Pumpkins I understanding with the reasoning for Pearl Jam at #1. Timeless, original, soulful, influential classics album after album. Quote:
