I dont think You're condescending remarks to webmasters is helping AVN at all, in fact you are making the situation a lot worse for them.

There are so many variables to this, Women make up most of the porn industry, you keep going on about the $300 ticket thing but what you fail to realise is that new talent will now be detered from attending this and any other AVN show due to the costs involved, bascially if the girls are not staying at the hotel or paying $300 they cannot get in to meet webmasters in order to develop there online career.

The way I see it AVN should be flying the girls out to these events in light of the importance of having them there, I know this is not going to happen but waving the girls ticket fees is the least they can do :2 cents:

This time around, no, but I strongly encourage you to ask around and see if any exhibitors or sponsors have any additonal lower-priced badges left; all exhibitors have access to a certain number of cheaper badges for staff and talent. I've come up with a number of more aggressive options to address this for next year but I will have to make it a little more equitable than 'Talent' passes that are only provided for good-looking women with D-cups as such things are rather subjective. ;)

I think this is all a bunch of crap! Unless I have missed something, I do not think that is fair to "talent". I run AdultxModels.com and have, in the past, brought many many models to the shows for them to get work while people are in town for the show and also if they are new to introduce them around for future work.

The local So. Fla models rely on these shows to get work and meet people, there are a lot of producers who like to shoot local talent while in town so they do not have to fly them out and pay all their expenses.

I think is is bull that a model would have to pay $300 to try and get work! In the past I have brought many girls to the shows for work, now they are being told that they have to pay $300, I am sure that will be worth it for a $500 shoot!!

And Aly, you said there is no way to justify lowering the price or any other solution 3 weeks before the show??? I remember another thread about this months ago where everyone stated the same opinions, how come a solution could not be made then, why did you all wait until 3 weeks before the show??

As a result of the previous discussions around this sort of thing, a solution was implemented. The solution was to allow badge holders to bring non-registered people into the event with a wristband in the evening. I also want to clarify again that exhibitors and cabana sponsors can get additional badges for talent at reduced rates.

Aly i am not trying to give you a hard time, but this still does not help the talent down here. Producers are not goign to try and book talent and then have to worry about buying them a badge for them. Plus most of the talent i have brought in the past get a lot of bookings by just being introduced to the producers and then they will set something up while they are here.

So in an industry that needs talent to survive, we are saying fuck you to them? So AVN is just as bad as the people trying to introduce the 25% tax on Adult Sites?

I am really disappointed in AVN's outcome of this situation!!

Buy yourself a pass, and then bring portfolios of your girls to show the producers????

Also I would suggest taking the girls to ALL the great offsite parties and having industry people see them there.

I mean not to sound like an old man or a ballbuster, but seriously what about the people that want to do business that do not need or want all the models running around distracting them or the people they need to meet with? Is this not what the parties are for? let the show floor and the daytime meetings be just that business, ( just like in Mainstream) then at night what the hell man let it rip..... :2 cents:

I agree, and i always get them to the parties, but what i am talking about is usually we have tons of bookings through our site before the shows, alot of girls get booked for shoots everyday, but this year ALOT of producers have been in contact with me and are not hiring the models because of these badge fees. I will be doing what i can, but i just see it as a huge loss for alot of models just looking for work while everyone is in town. I do not make any money off the models, i am not an agency, but i do try and get them everywhere i can.

EDIT: = Plus alot of producers like to see the models in person at these shows before they hire them for shoots.

One more thing!

A lot of models will not travel to a shoot by themselves, they are going to bring someone with them for safety (unless they know the producer). I go to almost all the shoots with our local models or they have someone with them. There is no way a model is going to pay another $300 to have an escourt with them to feel safe.
