Good point Ron but I keep telling you it's "Naughty Allie", not "Naughty Ally". Allie says she's moving our processing to PayCom if you don't soon start spelling her name correctly! :winkwink:

You're right, I am just the messenger, and I agree with your analogy. KB's wrong in the fact that I came to AVN specifically to listen to webmasters because I didn't think it was happening either. A lot of good changes have happened but I'm not the final word here. I'm passing along this feedback and seeing what can happen but this is a logistical issue that Internext may not want to handle beyond the current solution for evening guests.

Roger if you're still reading this thread... I think it gets to the point bringing a company to a show (breezies too) where it's more economical to get a good sponsorship package that includes X amount of badges and a decent room discount.

Last August we spent about $10K - $12K going to the show without sponsoring when I could have gotten a tiny booth for $5K and some good discounts and badges.:2 cents:

Then again... I don't take my own advice... seeing how I don't even roll out of bed until the show floor is closed. Maybe in Jan. :)

spoken like a true nightclub promoter. thats the name of the game. i do nightclub shows with artists that cost me 50-100k sometimes, you have to show the women love or they will not go. you get the money back on the bar and the back end. 10k in free badges could cost you 30-40k in bar sales alone over a 4 day period if theres no ass to entertain people.

straight up. sometimes my guestlist is 500 free girls and 1500 paid people at 20 bucks. thats just how it works. let em in or suffer the consequences long term. this is mentality thing not an avn thing. psychology. i would never stay anywhere longer than 20 minutes without the place being full of hot chicks.

my 2 cents.

I will never be a person that will just make a suggestion without a way to implement it. Let every webmaster that pays get a handful of PINK Talent Passes. These are for FEMALES ONLY. Everyone will know that webmasters and webmisteress should not have one of these badges. Do you really think NAUGHTY ALLIE (spelled correctly LOL) would be caught dead walking around with a badge that says I can not afford admission.

AVN gets its money, we all get see some HOT Flordia Girls laying around by the pool. WIN/WIN

If I have to look at SLEAZY Topless in the pool and that is what is considered EYE CANDY for 3 days. LOL I will be sending you my Therapy Bills for sure.

ANSWER About 1 hr

RESULT: We down size our Staff orr not attend this event next year.

That was the problem I was never at the booth. I do better when i have 4 girls hangin around :winkwink: I have to keep my image ya know :1orglaugh

the problem is not letting girls in free to the hotel or poolside and maybe parties.

I bought badges already for networking the show floor. I know girls in Miami and I'm not going to pay $300 for them to hang out at the pool etc.

Hey Roger, I'll make you a deal. Allie and I will pay for your girls passes (bring as many as you like)! You can keep them all day at the pool and at night at the clubs as long as you send them up to our room when you return to the hotel each night.

Seriously though, you've got a very valid point. As a loyal advertiser with AVN I hope they'll see that they're way off base on this one and implement something along the lines of what Ron has suggested.

I just think they're trying to make the show more productive for everyone and they didn't really foresee this particular issue. Now that it's been raised I would certainly hope that they respond to it appropriately. An ADULT tradeshow without eye candy isn't really an ADULT tradeshow now is it?

Great idea Ron! I'll have my camera there anyway, I'll video the entire thing each night and I'll handle all the post production. You set-up the processing and the DRM on your end and we can charge $300.00 for a pay-per-view dowload. We'll split the profits 50/50. What do ya think?

i am a fan of AVN and the Internext shows. I don't blame them for wanting to make a buck. I think they provide a quality service. Everyone talks about making it better but no one does it on the scale they do for the price.

But...

I really have to agree with the wisdom of what A1r3k is saying here...except one thing to consider is that Internext is not just catering to the straight market they also are attracting the gay site biz as well so gay talent would have to get the same benefit.

What roger was saying makes sense to allow a discount for "talent" badges which they do for the AVN awards show... but the problem there is that people will take advantage of that and try to say everyone is "talent". Who is set up to monitor that? Aly knows a lot of people but she doesn't know everyone and that would be an impossible task for her ultimately.

Rock and a hard place folks. No need to slam AVN or Internext for trying to make money at the same time as making the best of a difficult situation.
