emagine guys who know girls in Miami and the door guys won't let them into the hotel If I was a webmaster and I saw that I would get upset. I love you guys and I'm there to network all day but I'm not going back to my room alone and i certainly not going to rub lotion on your back unless your a really hot gay guy who has traffic :1orglaugh But in reality it happens already at the shows if its all guys people take off lets make this the best show ever and let all the girls in free :2 cents: then those girls will tell there friends to come by because its fun and not a sausage fest and free drinks and food. now you really have a pool party |
Quote:
Not to mention that everything is a huge sausage fest as it is, now all we are going to see at the pool is cock...Fuck, my stomach is turning just thinking about it LOL j/k guys! |

Just wondering, does Miami have one of those "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" policies? |
I have to add that about 5 years ago ... we just had an adult search engine that was a side project. Email lists were selling like hot cakes and that was our main focus. we went down to the Miami show just to check it out. We didn't really know anyone and we were just trying to get a bigger picture of the biz. that show really got us interested in moving towards adult more and I can tell you that if it was a Big Meat party we would most likely have stayed home the following year. I'm sure there are a lot of first timers coming to the show and these people like myself at the time are future biz for all of us. If the show sucks I'm sure the #'s will drop. It's a shame .. i really like the show and the hotel ... but it maybe my last ... I can spend that 10k on 3 smaller shows and still see everyone i love to hang and do biz with ... :2 cents:

I want to add something into the discussion here: The other side of the coin.
Let's start with some basic facts: Most other industries have trade shows that charge anywhere from $400 - $5000 for 2 or 3 days. Most trade shows operated by AVN in the past (and by other companies) that charge a fee have been subject to moochers. Moochers? Yup. Those are the people who come to an event city, stay at a nearby hotel, hang out in the show lobby, show bar, and show parties, but never once actually contribute to the show by buying a badge. Want to see it in action? Do you remember Internext vegas 2005? You know, where it was almost impossible to get a badge? Well, that long hallway leading up to the show became moocher's land. You could stay there, see all the people you wanted to see, and not pay AVN a cent. Most of us, because of contacts, friends, whatever, could get into the cool parties and not have to worry too much about what all else was going on. In theory, net $300 saved. But moochers have a long term effect on shows and show floors. As less people buy badges, and as less people attend the official stuff (and instead just party with thier buds who happen to be in town for a show) the actually value of that show floor drops like a rock. That in turn limits the value of the floor, which discourages companies from taking space the next time, which lowers the... anyway, you know how things can spiral down. AVN is trying to take a stand against this in Florida... at least to the point where people will not be able to sit at the doors of the show, in the lobby, and at the bar, mooching off the show without ever being part of it. We get a whole hotel take over (which I assume means that "rules" will be more relaxed this year) and the only people who truly lose in the game are the moochers. Let me tell you too, some of the higher profile people in this industry have mooched both Vegas and Miami shows in the past. Some of them even using previous year's badged as cover for their mooching. I love you all, but geez, come on. That's like plastic bling - it looks good until someone catches you with it. AVN has basically expanded the show area to cover all the areas that use to be moocher havens, and now you have to pay to have access. If your a real player (or even a fake one) $300 ain't gonna kill ya. I feel sorry for the people bringing girls to the show as decoration, but honestly, how do you draw the line? A amateur girl running her own site, hanging out at the LENZ.COM booth (trying not to use names) - is she a bunny or a webmaster? What if she wears a bikini in the booth? Bunny or webmaster? The extreme ends are easy to see, but the middle grey is very difficult indeed. If it is a sausagefest, well, then that is what it is. It truly isn't hard to find entertainment in south florida. |
roger likes wearing thongs. he just pretends here that he doesn't. you all didn't get to see the footage from the boat on 4th of july that he didn't PUBLICLY post?
wow! too hot for t.v. |

I can understand the mouchers they are mainly guys and they have to pay if they are doing well in the biz they can afford it. And the point to this is so they don't go looking for entertainment in Miami. I like it when its all at the hotel and fun |

I can see how that might present a problem |

Just thought of this watering the lawn yesterday, with out the models and talent, there would be NO SHOW................also i love you seeing you guys, but please please MORE GIRLS AT SHOWS.....Something that has always been needed, come on AVN realize that. :upsidedow |

Free guest passes are available in the evenings. |
Roger, what exactly do you think would make sense to do? Basically charge girls only $50 instead of $300 for example?
I understand everyone's points here, the problem just is in my oppinion, like RawAlex said, its hard to draw the line. Who is content and who is not content? And even if you would find a clear guideline to this, how do you actually determine this at the show?! How does each one prove what they are? I think this is more a logistical nightmare and will just result in even longer lines forming than at Vegas 2005. How would you handle it if you were AVN? Of course, like someone else said earlier, they can not really go and say "ok, all girls are now only $50" ... this industry has a huge gay part to it too, what about their content? |

Scuse the cut 'n' paste from a different thread...
I just want to let you know I read you loud and clear! Thank you for your feedback, this IS being addressed. This is far more complicated than it may appear so I'm not just going to throw out an- 'oh right, sorry, yes, we'll change that' to you. The folks at Internext are very much aware of the appeal of pretty women (and pretty men for some) We've already implemented a solution to bring guests into the facilities in the evening as a response to this issue. With regards to day-time attractions, bring me a busload of 30 stunning women and we'll definitely talk... otherwise, we're still chewing on this but it is unlikely to be changed for this year; there'll definitely be something worked out for next year but with a few weeks to go before the show now it would be wholly unfair to start charging less for some when others have paid full-price. I, personally, will NOT support Internext doing that. I do want to point out, also, that I (also personally) think you're blowing this out of proportion... there WILL be women at the event. Sponsors always receive free badges that many allocate to models... And hey, there are actually a few good looking women in the industry you know. |
Quote:
whats the number there. why are they being stubborn? This can only be good for them. or it will be a hotel filled with guys |
just watch and see what hapens.
|
There has to be a simple creative solution. Like have female guest passes for $100 that have to be bought by someone with a $300 pass. Or $50 model passes for sponsors with booths. :2 cents:

Read my previous post, thanks. |

You are probably the only female I have not hit on so watch your back. :winkwink: and it really is an easy fix but I understand how some have already paid and that would cause problems. |
Quote:
Oh and let's do some bizz Rog, we both have new programs on the rise :P |
Quote:
Unless AVN is prepared to start doling out thousands of dollars in refunds for already purchased passes, it would be REALLY tough to implement at this point. Perhaps they made a mistake and misjudged some things. Time will tell. Besides, if every event was planned to perfection, we wouldn't have threads like this to entertain the masses. |

You know i love to hang with the girls :) |

I've taken her to the last two Vegas shows and she had a blast, so I was really looking forward to bringing her to Florida. She'd have a great time and I have a lot more fun when she's there. Hopefully next year. |

If you don't get it after 8 pages you never will. If you are going to attend the floor and panels then you pay. why should I have to pay for girls or models to hang out my the pool and hotel which I already paid for with rooms? |
Quote:
I'm done with this Like I said if its all guys I will hang out for a bit then bolt to Miami beach with the girls webmasters welcome to join. I'm a very reasonable person but i know what happens when there is a sausage fest lets just hope it doesn't turn out that way |
Quote:
If she WASN'T going to walk the floor, I wouldn't have a problem either quite frankly, BUT it IS only for one person. For those paying for a number of models to come to the show, I believe I stated above that a lower fee would be a good idea....but it's probably not feasible at this late a date. |
Quote:
You would just love that wouldn't you big boy? ;-) HAHA |

I look forward to seeing everyone there :thumbsup I'm always going to make the best out of a situation. |
Roger, you're at about a 10% "Mad View" ratio, time for another new thread I think. 8 pages is Mad Big Bro!

So there is going to be a bikini contest this year? Is SilverCash sponsoring again? And did LAMike have to anti up $300 a pop for the contestants? I do have to agree with some of what RonC said with regards to a poolside party and only men. It will take, easy an hour for people to start busting out and heading to South Beach and it sucks that the sponsors lose that valuable networking time. It also sucks that the people that are paying the $300 to go and network will miss out because a ton of people are going to be at strip clubs etc. Ever try to do business in a strip club while some girl is sitting on someone's lap? Not saying that it can't be done, but why do I have to go and chase people around at clubts to do business? Makes no sense. Roger, yes, I know you love the ladies...you better, after all it sounds like you are going to be stuck with us LOL :P |
