that is exactly what is going to happen. especially after the guys get there & see its a big sausage fest, everyone is gonna bail.

im so glad I decided to fly my niece up this summer (the same week as internext) instead of going to Miami's show again. i cant see anything good coming out of this show. i do, however, forecast a train-wreck disaster of a show AND the aftermath is going to be even worse. :2 cents:

We are cancelling our room tomorrow, was really looking forward to seeing a lot of you people there, but there is no way I am gonna take My wife to a show with even less girls attending than the previous shows.

I am sure you are all aware of the incidents that occured with drunken idiots gropping the wifes/girlfriends of fellow webmasters, oviously with less girls to keep them busy drolling over it will only get worse and I know for a fact if this happens to My wife, I will be the one who ends up in jail.

I decided a long time when AVN first came out with this bullshit that I wasn't going to go to this show. I think it's going to be a disaster.

Sure, the primary reason for the show is about business, but it ain't ALL about business - if it was, why even schedule "parties"? Because we like to PARTY (duh) and who the fuck wants to go to a party with a bunch of dudes? Pass.

I'm certainly not adverse to having "Talent" passes, but how do you determine WHAT is talent? Everyone wants the hot girls by the pool, I'm sure Aly included.

How many people would bring their wives along and simply say they were "Talent" to avoid the $300? A whole bunch of people. I don't agree that wives and woman who really aren't talent should be getting in for free. Legitimate talent? Most definitely.

If there's a solution to that that I missed in this thread, I'd sure love for someone to post it so AVN could see it.

AVN has nothing to gain by charging full badge rates for girls (talent, booth, promo, etc)... and everything to LOSE. Is AVN really worried that they will be overrun with (free) girls eating the free lunches?

It sounds like the unoffical offsite parties will rock because girls can go!

What if instead of letting every model in for free, AVN offered a pass to them at a dicounted rate...like $20 a day or $50 for three days. Kind of like a cover charge at a club...That way everyone is happy...or almost happy!

I certainly agree with that to a point, but how is THAT helping the sponsors giving out free drinks by the pool? They want a return on their investment and their investment would get a LOT deeper if the models just sat by the pool and drank for free for three days. As a guy, it'd be GREAT for me, but I'm also looking at it from the sponsors point of view.

You can't move everyone to a pool party and make people's wives and girlfriends there pay to hang out at the pool and lobby we all paid the hotel for rooms, you see my point?

If its the floor where the booths are then i understand but even then I wouldn't charge for woman but thats just me, Unless they have a site or they are they promoting something.

Webmasters will remember your sponsored event alot better if they got laid from it or had a great time :2 cents:

But don't take my word for it. I'm always giving money away to earn there business.

I just think a little compromise would be good...If I wasn't in the industry and I wanted to go with my man for a little R&R I would hate to pay $300...but at the same time there are free drinks and food so there should be some small admission charge to cover basic costs...

Let's work this out...because I want to see hot chicks at the pool too!

I guess the sponsors would be paying to have the girls there ... but that would keep the guys that there trying to do biz with there also .. i can tell ya that if i go out by the pool ... in august ... it's going to be for drinks and eye candy. if it's a bunch of guys I'm going to do my biz and jet .... head out to a place that's hoppin .. :2 cents:

I like the idea of a 3 day pass for $100 for women-with no access to seminars.

It helps sopnsors because guys end up staying and talking biz and networking.

I don't hear sponsors bitching about having to do so. They're bitching that IF there are NO girls then webmasters will SPLIT and head to a place where there are.

If a sponsor is paying for drinks they should get some money if they don't want the models and hot ass drinking for free. then I'll pay for my girls to drink and eat no prob. but to make me pay for them to hang out at the hotel is crazy.

And even if there is free food i already know my girls will bitch and I'll have to take them somewhere nice to eat or I'm hoping some webmasters will take them off my hands and show them a good time .LOL

If a sponsor pays 10K for a cabana and 10% - 20% of the drinks are going to girls it can be construed as part of their cost of doing business. If not, and 50 - 60% of the guys leave because there are no chicks/eyecandy what's the downside then?

Of course these are arbitrary numbers BUT I think letting girls in might be the lesser of 2 evils.

Aly...please think of the girls in the industry before charging models. It's bad enough that Holly from NakedSword will be looking to score with every single girl in the industry, but now we're going to have to fight off the horny GFY male webmasters with sex toys just to keep them from getting in our pants! Its a simple fix

emagine guys who know girls in Miami and the door guys won't let them into the hotel If I was a webmaster and I saw that I would get upset.

I love you guys and I'm there to network all day but I'm not going back to my room alone and i certainly not going to rub lotion on your back unless your a really hot gay guy who has traffic :1orglaugh

But in reality it happens already at the shows if its all guys people take off lets make this the best show ever and let all the girls in free :2 cents:

then those girls will tell there friends to come by because its fun and not a sausage fest and free drinks and food. now you really have a pool party

I have to add that about 5 years ago ... we just had an adult search engine that was a side project. Email lists were selling like hot cakes and that was our main focus. we went down to the Miami show just to check it out. We didn't really know anyone and we were just trying to get a bigger picture of the biz. that show really got us interested in moving towards adult more and I can tell you that if it was a Big Meat party we would most likely have stayed home the following year. I'm sure there are a lot of first timers coming to the show and these people like myself at the time are future biz for all of us. If the show sucks I'm sure the #'s will drop. It's a shame .. i really like the show and the hotel ... but it maybe my last ... I can spend that 10k on 3 smaller shows and still see everyone i love to hang and do biz with ... :2 cents:
