This was an electricity and magnetism class, all vector calculus physics. I doubt any 8th grader would know why the sky is blue if you asked them.

I was at the L.A. zoo with my daughters. we were over by the hippos and this mother tells her children to look at the Rhinos. I was going to say something, but my 8 year old daughter corrected the women. In a much nicer tone of voice then what I would have used.

Can't a parent just say "that's a great question honey, and I forget/don't know the answer. When we go home, let's read about it on the internet?" Or substitute dictionary/enclycopedia for internet if you prefer.

*ahhhh, and I am a tall americano drinker. Mostly because I don't like the extra calories I get with my mocha, although I still enjoy the mocha quite a bit.*
