Their bloggers get paid between a couple hundred to a few thousand a month. They definately do not have 101 full timers. I think their total employee expenses comes to just under $1 mil a year.

And that doesn't even include their banner ads -- which is adding another million a year onto their revenues.

So yeah, they are doing pretty damn good.

sorry, but breaking $2.3k per day isn't really making $1M/yr. i can take my top day and say whoa, i'm making 750k/yr. they can say "this year so far we made $350k which would be way more real"

Correct. If i'd take my top day I'd be making 7,4 million a year .. which I don't make (yet)

candyflip 08-14-2005 09:01 AM

I helped make them that cash. I've got their blogs open in my browser 24/7

BaldBastard 08-14-2005 10:35 AM

With that many staff 1 mil should be no probs I know a few people who are doing 2-300k quiet easy one person.

wedouglas 08-14-2005 10:53 AM

So, Einstein, please show me the rules saying that a blog only updating once per month is not a REAL blog.

You seem to have no clue about the fact that blogs emerged as online diaries, where people would make additions in their SPARE time, which in many cases only occured once per month. Then again, the ones that became successful (in terms of traffic) where the ones which updated more often. But nowhere, along the line of blogs' existence, did the ones updating once per month start being any less real than the ones updating daily. So, take your foot out of your month and stop commenting on things you don't have the slightest fucking clue about.

You have $20k days? Wow some people are really doing well. Congrats.

You guys are right, extrapolating based on best day gross means nothing in terms of net profit.

hova 08-14-2005 01:44 PM

that's a good read, thanks!

Sorry if your pea-sized brain only perceived my post as sounding like a smart-ass. Now, go get some English lessons, I know it's not your first language so the least you can do is try using it in a way so that it makes sense. You sure must make enough from sigwhoring to afford English lessons, right?

He mentions in another article how the bloggers are paid:

"Right now I see most blogs in our networking getting $1,000 to $5,000 a month in sponsorship in their third or fourth month (basically when ever they break the 40,000 page view mark). Our deal (right now) is that the blogger gets the first $1,000 and then 50%, so I think on average our bloggers will get $1 to $1.5K a month doing a blog with us (eventually this will just be 50-50)."

You ARE an idiot, right? At what point did I even MENTION fake blogs or running them? I just pointed to your ignorance regarding what a blog is, which you do a fine job of helping me prove. Not to mention proving an overall ignorance. *Playa*. :1orglaugh

Wiggles 08-14-2005 06:58 PM
