I'd like to know where they are going to put the debris from an entire city?

Where are they going to put an entire city of people while they rebuild?

The entire infrastructure has been destroyed, so it will be at least a year until they will even be ready to begin.

Who is going to finance all the businessess that will have to start from scratch to support the city's economy?

How and where will the hundreds of thousands of workers live during the years of rebuilding?

What if other storms come in during the rebuilding?

What are they going to do with all the low income ghetto housing? Rebuild ghettos? Build nice new homes that the ghetto folks won't be able to afford?

What insurance companies will ever want to write policies here again at an affordable cost?

Just some of the hundreds of questions that have to figured out first.

Indeed. I heard it will be at least 4 months before residents will even be able to go back to their homes (rather, what's left of their homes).

Rebuilding in the same area is just asking for another horrific and costly disaster.

When they sent people to Houston, they did so knowing they would never actually return. They have limited choices and the best decision is not always the easy one.

Shove contaminated water back into the gulf? Move people to Houston?

They can't say they are never going to rebuild. It would make things worse. Think about it.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Ive been drinking on Bourbon St and I love party memories down there but it is not worth fixing imho.

It will happen again!

For the port location alone, it is worth rebuilding.

you have to be fucking shitting me right?
they rebuild California with all the earthquakes, landslides and fires don't they?
what the fuck for?
all California ever gave us is wetbacks who Arnold wants to give a drivers license so they can take your job delivering pizza.
New Orleans will be rebuilt because of all the money it made for big business, and will make in the future.
it will take time and alot of money, but the smart biz people will benefit from it big time.
the smart money is just waiting for the cleanup so they can get right back in their and build a biz with goven't money and reap the profits.
