don't try explaining that logic to people like that. they don't fucking get it. and they won't fucking get it until themselves, or someone they know gets robbed, raped, or murdered by a criminal with an illegal gun. then, all too late, they will say "why wasn't i smart enough to take steps to protect myself and my family." |
(QUOTE) I totally agree with you. I do however enjoy guns on an artistic level also. like a vintage car, I like to look at them and share. I have them because I like the art of shooting, I shoot expert as well, and for me it's not about killing someone (although they can come in handy if you need to, but then again so can a vintage car, lol).
But you cannot be more right about the fact that a lot of people think they can whip em out to scare people, or that the knowledge that they have one will deter someone from fucking with them. That is a cowardly way to think. Anyone who knows me knows that the gun does not come out unless I plan on pulling the trigger....period. __________________ Ray "The Don" Vega (QUOTE) In some cases you are correct...For some people, it is a man thing. They feel tough because they have a gun. But for others, the skill of target shooting a handgun and knowing about them, the different models, the look and feel of them, tactical use, safety, training etc. is what they get off on. You can usually tell who "respects" the gun and who doesn't. Same as automobiles. Some people collect or admire cars because of the feel of driving them, the satisfaction of knowing all about them, the look and feel from an artistic view, and some guys have a cranked up engine so they can lay rubber because it makes them feel like a man. In either case one type should not be confused with the other. A car has several purposes, transportation, to facilitate the enjoyment of driving, and as a showpiece that says something about the owner. A gun has many purposes as well, killing something, to facilitate the enjoyment of target shooting, and as a showpiece that says something about the owner. whether something is "bad" or "good" should depend on the owners intention, not the object. To say "guns are bad", you may as well say "Cars are bad" since they can cause someones death as well (and do so more often than guns). __________________ Ray "The Don" Vega (QUOTE) my condolences...only the bad guys have guns where you live. __________________ Ray "The Don" Vega (QUOTE) don't try explaining that logic to people like that. they don't fucking get it. and they won't fucking get it until themselves, or someone they know gets robbed, raped, or murdered by a criminal with an illegal gun. then, all too late, they will say "why wasn't i smart enough to take steps to protect myself and my family." __________________ smack ALL very well said stuff guys :thumbsup |

My lovely .357... I like best that I can shoot .38s out of it but it's built for the heavy feedback of the .357s so when you shoot the lesser .38s they kick is very little.

I'm betting that most if not all of these gun toters are American. And that is REALLY fucking SCARY!
The fact thatvso many people in one country feel the need to carry a gun is fucked up. |

it was on special at shortyusa.com and I had to grab it. I have several real guns, and several airsoft's that we use for our little gunfights at the office...The S&W, glock 19 and Glock 27 are real. |
very nice purchase

i don't just feel the need. i am exercising my rights. above and beyond protection, disarming the public allows the government to remove the ultimate power of people in a democracy. the power to over thrown when a government becomes overly corrupt. and don't construe this literally, i'm not advocating armed insurection, unless it were totally neccesary. |

Thanks. Actually, it's a Kimber. It handles very much like the LB's Prowler. My decision to purchase the Kimber was based primarily on fit as both performed very well in a USPSA round. |
I thought it was illigal to carry a concealed gun in New York
