OK guys, Ive copied all the designs over to the powers that be as they have been posted, I will have a meeting with them Monday afternoon GMT and get you some feedback so I can post thier thoughts.

So far there are one or two that are liked, buts its better that I go chat with them so i can give honest thoughts back.

There have only been 7 entrants so far, some have done a few variations but in general just 7 concepts.

I'd like to also thank young for his/her input as well at this stage and the deadline date of the 5th Oct will be extended.

For your intel, the CEO of this venture has been thinking of soing this deal for a long time and he himself owns a pretty large travel org, as stated before the target market is the more affulent traveller, someone who has been there seen it done it and is always looking for that "fine dining report" or maybe "a superb hotel none of us ordinary folk" have ever heard of.

The company although new is well backed and already has a very strong client base to dig into. The image I would say has to be a little upmarket.

I will come back to you all probably Tuesday a.m. as its the wifes birthday tomorrow night and i'm taking her to see a show.

Gotta be honest, there are some very nice designs on here -- but to me they don't reflect the upscale & experienced travel market.

That last lost looks very good AdultRMX more so the ones at the top, personally I would drop the road line and stop using 3 colours in bytheway.

AdultMRX drop it to lower case "bytheway" and give us some colour variations on the same theme. My personal opinion is that looks cool but i aint the one paying the bill or making the final decision, just a thought.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh So many entries and quotes that your work got lost when I was quickly scrolling through. I'm familiar with your work and we know already what you can do. I have your portfolio bookmarked and your Lativivo (or whatever) logo was crazy. I think something along those lines for this competition would be great.

You get the general idea. Advertisers can take spots - with visible LOGOS on either side of the road and it could be tailored PER CITY - depending on the circulation of your paper.

The main theme is "BY THE WAY" is "THE CENTRAL THEME" - on the road and can be seen from "either side" (very subtle spot) - you can make more dough from spots on either side! :upsidedow

You can also squeeze in a ".com"

You have a lot of creative freedom here :thumbsup

The "route 66" is part of the "draw" depending on your target - maybe europeans who want to visit the States, the american landmark "draws them in...into the spots on either side - or your website - the whole page is a BIG AD!

Why is it all of a sudden we have everyone obessed with "highways" man if I was an affulent traveller I'd be flying, getting all the driving done by someone wlse and I'd sure wanna know where the best or kewlest place was to eat..... this aint a holiday brochure..... that I do know

Thanks to all the people for the replies, I appreciate it.

All nice designs.. some follow the guidelines a bit better than others / have more of a theme to them, which I think will do better when the winner is picked.... :) People could always changed their logo to add more of a travel information site theme / idea though.. I think there's still time left?
