I can't believe I've read this entire thread *shaking head*

I only have two things to say:

1. Mutt, so many have great respect for you .. my advice is to QUIT POSTING!
2. Ashley, there is an old saying - It goes like this "sh*t or get off the pot". You say you want to run your own program and have control .. then I suggest you grow up and learn how to DO it. This thread alone shows you haven't bothered to think this through on a professional level. It's a BUSINESS, treat it as such.

Let me see if I have this right..... A twenty-two year old model with no business experience who can't make an HTML page and who has screwed over a few webmasters..... Has emailed all of her affiliates asking to remove their links because she's shutting down her site...... Smooth. Really smooth.

You fail to understand how this bussiness works at the most basic levels. You can't take down your site; You have paying members. Also, a good portion of the traffic you have coming in is now lost, no matter that you've now announced in this thread that you'll be keeping your site open. The damage has been done; Links have already started coming down.

I don't know Mutt personally. I've done some business with him and he's been great; I've heard wonderful things about him. Seems to me like he was the best thing that has ever happened to you and he was asking nothing in return.

I see a sea of change for the industry in how models will be dealt with in the future. Program owners are tired of putting in time, effort, and money into a model only to have them leave every time the grass is greener on the side. I see it coming in the near future where photographers will play dumb with models, shoot them in bulk, never tell them about a site, never take them to shows, and never cut them in on the profits of the site.

And new models come around every day of the week.

Hello again everyone,
I have decided that I'm going to keep the current site up after being advised - until I can have everything replaced that needs to be replaced. You do not have to take down any links to my site. It would simply effect too many people to work things that way. I should be able to have the switch over completed in a week. The change over to NATS will not interrupt your traffic at all. The most that will happen is that you will have two areas of stats to check.
I aplogize for all the confusion. This seems to be the best option to effect the least amount of people.

models need paying on the day they work, they sign a model release and the shooter owns 100% the contwent with all rights.

Going into "partnership" with them is a route to grief. They either want out of the business and expect the site to come down or get the idea that all is needed is them with their legs open to make money. few last the course unless they see a massive check coming in every week and no way to increase on it.

Sorry Ashley but this is based on 28 years of experience as a shooter and one of the few guys who made a success of a partnership with a model. My luck is not easily repeated.

Just to clear one little thing up...

The claim that NATS is somehow not "backwards compatible" with CCBill Links and the like.. and that switching from CCBill to NATS is a problem.. John mentioned it but to clear this up totally...

We _CAN_ redirect CCBill link codes to NATS! This has not been possible for long yet, but recently we have found a way together with CCBill to do this for ANY kind of CCBill link out there.

You can even continue to use your ccbill linking code and it would not be a problem at all... only difference is, ALL new stats are in NATS.

I stopped promoting her a while back because I predicted a move to NATs which would essentially make me change all my link codes anyway. I wish more people would just start out with NATs, because switching blows. Anyway, I still have a nice bunch of rebillers every month that like to see Ashley get naked.

Finally caught up from last night... Ashley, swallow your pride and try to make things good with Mutt.

What I got out of this, is the following:

I'll help you get your site up and you won't have to pay me a dime. However, I own ALL the content and design. If you do this and that, you will always have a site.

Here is the "THIS" part of the equation: Learn the business, learn basic HTML, A little Photoshop, maintain your camshow schedule and you will have to shoot "X" number of scenes per month of which remember, I own.


What I want to know is, what is the "THAT" part of this equation is?

There is something huge missing here from both parties. All I know it is bullshit and you are BOTH hurting affiliates who have put their trust in BOTH of you in operating the site.

I have always been skeptical in promoting single girl sites (There are a few exceptions) for this type of situation alone. Agreements and contracts are off the cuff and if one thing goes wrong, everything goes down in flames to include the affiliates who are typically responsible for atleast 50% of the sites success.

As my dad has ALWAYS told me, NOTHING in life is for free. Looks like he was right again.

true, but I'd love to hear the details that Mutt is leaving out (the ones he stated he wouldn't post about), like things that reflect badly on her character

After reading this thread, I frankly don't care what the reasons are, this is what I've learned about Ashley.

She is impulsive. She does not think things through. She does not explore all options, before sending out first one email telling affiliates to "take down links" and then comes here and "its down to the wire and I'm leaving my site up" and "sue me if you want" and then sends out yet another email telling affiliates that they can leave their links up.

I neither need nor desire the headache of a program that creates additional work & stress based upon an individual's rash impulsive decisions.

Whatever the 'fallout' may or may not have been between Ashley & Mutt, it does not change the fact that one minute it was "take down the links" and the next it was "I've changed my mind." Ashley -- Make a decision, and STICK TO IT.
