What does that have to do with anything? In every hurricane, some people get hit harder than others and Kre8tor and Bratt were hit very hard by this storm.

Noboby has to donate or even send well wishes if they don't want to. But here's a good rule to follow: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I can't for the life of me understand how the first negative comment made it's way into this thread.

I think most people here have been strapped for money at one point or another... and major disasters only add insult to injury. We'll be glad to help... adding you.

nofx 10-29-2005 01:43 PM

sorry but i've been ravaged by two hurricanes this year, I do know exactly what they are going thru but seriously, they should have stocked up with food and water before the hurricane hit, if you have that, you'll be fine, bored as fuck without electricity, but fine regardless.

before Rita hit, I went out and bought 10 gallons of water, a fifth of whiskey, and a bunch of canned food. when I lost power, I didnt have a fucking generator and I was perfectly fine for 4 days until the power came back on.

you have to expect the worse and prepare for these types of things. living in FL and not being hurricane savvy is just fucking stupid as they get hit by 2347294 hurricanes every year.

how in the fuck did that guy break his foot ? did he try and karate kick apart the tree that fell thru his house ?

you got balls assuming and giving advice you fucking asshole especially after being hit by two hurricanes. (NO or TX?)

you know one person may have nothing happen to them or their property and their neighbor gets totally fucked. and both being prepared.

the money is for gas to run ther generator nothing else - the fucker uses 5 to 7 gallons a day.

People were prepared.

hopefully when his foot heals up he'll use it to kick some sense into your ass.

5 to 7 gallons a day? And gas is $10 a gallon?!?

"gas for a generator is costly and getting it is just as hard - try spending 50 bucks a day on gas to run a few things in your house."

My original post was to point out that if ATMs and banks were down, sending Paypal $$$ wouldn't be much help. We went through this when someone else in the biz was out of power until just a week or so ago due to Katrina - there was literally ZERO way of getting money to him - you couldn't even mail or FedEx cash. But it certainly looks like Kre8tor and Bratt are having problems unrelated to the hurricane and again, I truly wish them the best.

I started a post a month or so ago about keeping at least a month's worth of living expense in cash in your home. I hope people realize now that it's decent advice.

i am sure most of you know both of them...they are my VERY close friends, as well, and really need some help.

thanks!

I'm in FL South West. If help is still needed I'd be glad to. Hitting you on ICQ.

stop dodging my question, how did he break his foot ? probably running around outside like a dumbfuck while the hurricane was going on and tripped and fucked it up. did he drop the generator on it ?
When the hurricane was going here, I chilled inside and got shitfaced because thats all there was TO do. it takes a nice bit of physical effort or force to break your foot, what was he doing ?

like I said, they live in FL and not very hurricane savvy, thats their own problem which they put themselves in.

hrmmm....a hurricane is coming.....I should probably take as much cash as I can out of the bank before it hits because power is going to go out......hrm

obviously they dont have the best of logic.

i'm not bashing on either of them, just pointing out their flawed logic in dealing with a hurricane.

prepared enough to have a generator but not prepared enough to think about the fuel and $ it costs to run a generator? LOL come on...common fucking sense.

Stuff happens, and if they need 15-20 dollars a day to run their generator, and cannot afford, just don't use it.

Sounds like they had money problems previously or just want a free ride. With that being said I doubt my 25.00 donation would make a difference. JMO :)

Please get in touch with me. I'm in Miami, and we also don't have power, but I can get to them. I have a bunch of extra propane and a stove to cook on with it. I can go to the gas station 5:30 tomorrow and I should have 6 gallons for them by 8:30am.

Please call me ASAP 954 650 5789

sperbonzo 10-29-2005 05:12 PM

Believe me, I know what they are going through, we only got water pressure back a couple of days ago and it may be another week to get electric. I'm getting internet by driving in my car, and finding the little areas with power and an open network. (thank god for power inverters!).

Please get me their address so I can bring them the stove the propane and the gas...

I have an extra butane camping stove that we are using, so we don't need to propane one.

Just where the fuck is everyone supposed to live???

I am sure that you have an answer.

you always have something quite interesting and insightful to say and I enjoy reading your posts, regardless of how direct they are. :upsidedow

hmmmm.... I"m not getting a reply and I can't stay on for too much longer. LENSMAN!

I need to get Kreators info so that I can contact them and bring them gas, stove and propane... Do you have their phone number? Please call me with it.

(If you have their address, even better....

Chio 10-29-2005 05:39 PM

I ICQ'd but no response :( Is there a curfew in effect? I don't know if I can go down there too much later, but perhaps tomorrow. Karla I sent an auth request, let me know what I can do to help.

Personally -- I can't wait until all you fuckers fall into the ocean.

There's always next year...

Karla 10-29-2005 06:04 PM

for those of you who need kre's or bratt's paypal or epass info, please contact me direct via my icq: 328958121. or karlamichelle at gmail dot com. i will be happy to give it to you, as they REALLY need some help.

for those of you who believe you KNOW EVERYTHING about emergency preparedenss and want to make this a negative thread....THINK AGAIN! i spent 35+ years in new news media and over half of that, as well, in emeregency management and emergency services. i still work with our local eoc (emergency operations center) on a REGULAR basis, plus i have been an amateur (ham) radio operator most of my life, dealing with international emergencies. NOBODY can be totally prepared for an emergency. things happen. kre's broken foot was a related injury (it happens). money doesn't grow on trees, either. who in the f*ck do some of you people think you are? all i did was come here and try to get help for some fellow webmasters, who happen to be MY FRIENDS!

sorry for being harsh, here, but i am starting to get REALLY on edge, with the strangely uncompassionate feelings. peaches, you and kre know each other, so take this up with him, NOT me, hon. i DO, however, remember much of YOUR plight (in the past), as well. in my opinion, you are way out of line!

lets suffice to say that EVERYONE needs help at one time or another. some people are obviously more intelligent and compassionate than others.

a postive thread gone sour. only on gfy. holy jesus!

i wasnt dodging your question. ask him yourself, im through with the ignorance and stupidity in this thread.

Nickatilynx 10-31-2005 02:38 PM

Hey Karla,

1.) Who the fuck are you to have a pop at peaches? ( sorry for seeming a tad harsh but who the fuck are you?) :)
2.) I'm sorry but I think peaches makes some valid points.
3.) Do you only post over raising money for some poor unfortunate?

oh wait! when i went totally blind for 3 months and HAD to come up with the thousands in necesssary funds for eye surgery and related medical issues, i just pulled a wad of cash out of my pocketbook and said, "sure, no problem!" N-O-T! and i am still paying the bills. nice to see your compassion, there, peaches. foregive me if sound a bit harsh, but maybe you could use a dose of reality.

Get off the high horse please.

I am in South Florida, with no power, and a generator. I took 3 grand out of the bank before this, had contingency plans if I needed more money.

I feel for them going through this, but going with what pleasurepays said earlier, one could have planned for this as best as possible.

I'd like to hear a smart ass remark from you to me now, in the same situation, no power, and my home not liveable.

Nickatilynx 10-31-2005 02:47 PM

Its a pretty sorry state of affairs...

I mean ...

Ant pulls out some cash to prepare..peaches does...

If they didn't have cash ...well Ant..if you ever needed money , I would have thought besides myself ( you know you'd have cash from me in a heartbeat ) there is at least a dozen nearby...serge etc etc that would sub you a grand or so...

Peaches the same...

You surely wouldn't need to go to a board through a person with what...20 posts to try and get some cash...

Sorry but to me this sounds like "Lets blame Wilma for our financial situation"...

Someone needs to speak the "reality" here.

A grand motherfucker?! A grand wouldn't keep me in Gucci Loafers for a week! :)

I feel for them, but at the same time, I feel more for myself.

All the best to bratt and Kre, good folks. Have talked to her and Kre via phone a couple times since the hurricane hit and they sounded in good spirits.

As far as why Bratt posted at ANS instead of here???
I have a feeling that the reason Bratt took her lil bit of internet time to post on ANS instead of here, is because she works for ans ;)
