i've posted my thoughts on gfy from day1 and i'm not stoping being who I am cause some fuckwad like you doesn't like it.

i've supported PILES of people on here too that needed money cause they got hurt or needed it for some emergency.

the way this was presented wasn't cool. sure it's horrible it happened - but when the chips are down you get to know the real person - and king adam let us know what he really thinks about us - we're just cash to him. that's it.

i didn't like that.

This is simple. There is a time for debating actions, I just see this as a time for being human.

I am not proposing anyone donate. I am not supporting Adam's thread. What I am saying is there was a tragedy, it might be better to let the debates simmer until a little time has passed.

exactly.... pay or just let it slide if you have your doubts for whatever reason.

Trying to squeeze drama out of this is weak.

theres' nothing wrong with donating to something you believe in - including this case.

this was a tragity. I feel horrible this happened to niki. it shouldn't happen to anyone.

i feel worse knowing exactly what king adam thinks of us.

It isn't because of what I think, you idiot. Nor is it about you, and about the "PILES of people" you supported.

This would be a good time for you to just shut your bloated ego the fuck up for once, and quietly step back. Making drama out of this is a disgustingly egocentric thing to do. Someone is seriously injured right now, and may even die or be handicapped for life.
That should be a big fucking clue for you that this is serious, and not a good moment to go attention whoring.

but what really happened here.

does niki frequent GFY? - not to my knowledge

adam paniced for money when this happened (and i'm sorry it happened) realizing she didn't have medical insurance and went to the easiest target he could think of to get cash. GFY. He didn't come here to tell us about niki - to my knowledge she isn't a GFYer - he came her to PLUG us for money for someone who isn't part of our community here cause that's how he thinks of us. :2 cents:

Well said SleazyDream, I fully agree with you. :2 cents:

That's an ignorant and stupid comment to make - esp. from a fellow Canadian who enjoys government-sponsored health benefits.

I have no idea what circumstances led to her not having insurance, but I would not be making an insulting comment toward someone in her situation right now.

Perhaps you could have said:
I'm sorry she got hurt.
I'm sorry she didn't have medical insurance.
...

Oh, and yes, starting a new thread to make your point is a bit arrogant too ...

A) The horse got spooked probably because of the flash or the noise of all of the people around. Research should have been done before shooting her on a horse. They were irresponsible in this and probably just thought, "Oh, horses are so calm and nice...this shouldn't be a problem." Wrong.

B) Didn't have liability insurance to cover her in case she did get hurt. This is also due to a lack of research and knowledge.

This offends me because I do feel bad for Nikki and sympathize with her but this is like me asking to help pay the medical bills of one of my employees because they fell down the stairs in my office. If people want to send money then that's on them but I don't think a thread should have ever been started asking for donations. :2 cents:

Lawyers are circling the waters on this one as we speak.

throwing my asshole comments in..

even though I feel for her tremendously, having a parent who has suffered severe head injuries...before asking for $$ ..ask yourself this question.

Would Nikki help any one of us with a cash donation if we were seriously injured?

Her friends know the answer..therefore they should not be offended that complete strangers are questioning motives here.
I have had quite a few friends in the hospital with traumatic injuries.. payment was never brought up..except with the parents if the person is unable to make the decision themselves...there is financial aid out there for those that take the time to use it.

Again, do you have any idea why she's not covered? And even if she simply didn't want to, didn't bother to or any other excuse why on earth call the woman "stupid".

Apparently she is in very bad shape right now so at the very least people can be respectful by not insulting her.

From what I can tell, she didn't ask anyone to post here on her behalf. And the poor girl's getting flamed and insulted and obviously, in no position to defend herself.

All I was saying was, perhaps be a little less judgemental in your criticism. Or, at least stick to criticizing the manner in which the request for help had been handled and just leave insulting her personally out of it?

Fxck, sleazy is right.

Doctor Dre 11-05-2005 05:58 PM

I would tend to agree with this post ... get your shit straight or pay the prices. It's not anybody elses if she could not afford the 1/4 of a shoot worth monthly for insurance.

subVERSION 11-05-2005 06:31 PM

It's kind of interesting.
I can see both side of the story and each has their own validity.

But ask yourselves this: Who is she to you ?

Once you figure that out. Then each has their rightful position.
But the fact still remains.. There's a person in the industry who's pretty close to death.

So obviously it's going to effect different people in different ways on many different levels.

So how is Sleazy wrong for voicing his opinion on a tragic accident that could easily be labeled as negligence(not saying that it is..just going of apparent info).

Then again, would we defend and donate if the scenario involved her in a speeding car hitting something resulting in the same position without insurance ? :upsidedow

Rinaldo 11-05-2005 07:01 PM

my point was probably poorly stated. If I had made bank on her and some extra floating around. why not help if it meets your image of yourself? She was cautious or correctly insured. Yep, and there would not have been an ask for charity if she did not have a problem. Some people like the idea of "taking care of their own". I am one of those people. I think it creates a positive image for our industry.

slapass 11-05-2005 08:27 PM

"she was NOT cautious or correctly insured." fuck I am slow tonight.

mikesouth 11-05-2005 08:41 PM

Tony404 gets it.

Two things strike me here one is if I got crippled tomorrow would anyone give a fuck...no because I dont have tits

Second It is not incumbent on anyone to donate or even to feel as though they should, I'm sure Nikki is a nice person, I'm sure I don't wish anyone here any harm but that's just life, we get hurt, we die, yada yada...shit happens If you wanna donate do so, if not don't.

Personally I have better uses for my money...but it IS my choice...hell some people donate to PETA, when there are people, Americans even that need it more...but it's their choice cuz it's their money
OK nuff said

Wiggles 11-05-2005 10:51 PM

phew thats exactly what i thought but everyone was so gung ho on donating and giving sympathies that i just didn't bother reply, glad others think as i do.

pocketkangaroo 11-05-2005 11:35 PM

I feel bad for what happened to her and sincerely hope she gets better soon. I think it is silly to blame someone for getting on a horse as it is something people do every day.

However, I don't think anyone is wrong for questioning about asking for money. A lot of people don't really know her and many people also have never spoken to her. If I was in need of money, I doubt she'd have donated to me. I'm not trying to be mean, but I think it could have been approached a different way. I'm certain she doesn't need the money right this instance. An update on her condition, letting the board know, etc would have been a nice touch before asking for money. You will also get shit from people because she probably makes more than 95% of this board.

Bingo! Of course she wouldn't, she can't even afford fucking health insurance.

Both Nikki and those taking the photos were negligent. She was negligent not to be concerned about her own health care and they were negligent by not taking her safety into account when putting her on a horse.

Personally, I think it's in bad taste to come to GFY begging for money for someone who can't even take responsibility for themselves.

Yesterday we were on a location shooting and Nikki was involved in a serious accident. She was on a horse and the horse got spooked. Nikki fell off the back of the horse and then the horse fell back on her head.

Don?t people or companies shooting content have liability insurance there? Or do you just take the risk and hope accidents won't happen.
