When you hit the big reef, follow it south and when it ends head west south west again until you come through the breakers and hit the beach.

Now you will either end up on the Sunshine or Gold Coast (or maybe even Moreton or Stradbroke Islands), but there is plenty of public transport. Just ask for directions, us Aussies are a friendly bunch.

If you leave now you might make pre-dinner drinkies.

Qantas do direct LA to Brisbane 4 times per week, and their service is pretty good and it's an overnight flight so the jetlag factor ain't so bad - 14 hours give or take.. leaves like 11pm and gets in 2 days later at like 7am.

Singapore Airlines or Emirates if they do that route are excellent also.

Business Class on any rocks if you do that.

I am away first week of February on the Great Barrier Reef (http://www.heronisland.com) and then fly out 22 February for the http://www.costaricabash.com

You can get USA to AU for under $600 USD on qantas at the moment. Gets points on all oneworld airlines except in the Ba program. If you fly Biz/First, don't waste your money on qantas - exusa its 30% more expensive than from AU.. go with cathay pacific or American/QF via Tokyo.

You know boys... all us aussie pornographers should united under 1 travel company, if we tally over $250K/year in spend, we get our own dedicated agent at the airline it's through (alliance branding) and a few elite membership (chairmans lounge style)

to be honest i'm not sure I'll get Randall to post an update in the am :) ... all I know is it's going to be a great night with great people :)

From what CJ is saying about Cameras and talk of computers even being available now in Brisbane... we are crossing fingers that the trusty aircon will be pumping.

cj is only half telling the truth, those room sized things they call computers up there and the phosphorus bulb cameras surely exist, but the mice on the wheel over the icebucket they call aircon? hmmmm. That town is so hot they need a big aircon unit fused over the whole thing. I'll ring Beattie and make sure he installs it before the 4th so i can come.
