I was speaking in terms of a program that has existing architecture to market a site. Obviously, if you have problems getting traffic to a site, exposure elsewhere has its benefits.
When you do have the means to put a product out there and get traffic to it, having the model also being marketed by 5 or 10 other large programs makes you uncomfortable as you pay out the start up costs for a site. Magazines are buying web girls for layouts in their titles because so many of the great new discoveries these days are being sourced by web entities and not by photographers that submit for print exclusively. Nowadays, a photog that submits to print exclusively is a rare thing and most have an internet presence in either site development or content sales. |
i agree with whomever said the solo niche needs more women like naughty allie and vanilla deville. personality goes a long way, so said vincent vega. in any case, this thread reads like the cover article on the XBIZ mag last month. or was it AVN? it's interesting getting everyone else's opinions though. thanks! :thumbsup

I'm bookmarking this thread for later. I really don't have time to read it all right now and post a reply, but I liked the first post a lot Shap, and I look foward to reading the replies.

Add to this the old guys retiring and you have a shortage of new girsl being found by us. but don't worry Eva shot two film sets for you today. :1orglaugh tASSy re naughty allie and vanilla deville. We find one of these kind of girls once a year and that's why they're so easy to sell. But she will also be in big demand from others and will be expensive and there's the problem. |

I did pretty well with a solo girl site about 2 years ago - girl was good at promo - worked her tail off... until she got a new boyfriend.... then everything went to hell!!!
|
only a select group of these sologirl sites will do well, the rest are fillers.

One area I look to spend some time with this year is getting the Hustler brand into the solo girl site arena. It is a two tiered plan really. It would serve in a capacity similar to the "Cyber-Girl" initiative.
Having the retail stores in tourist destinations, the clubs around the world, Hustler Live, I see an opportunity for solo girls to scale the entry into the business. What I think is really cool... is that through all the different forms of promotion we have...when you see a girl come up through that seems to have some real momentum... you have print, video, and live appearences to get the name and the face out there. We have some new contract talent for 2006 that will be easy to convert and we will also have a gateway to becoming a Hustler Honey through solo girl sites, dancing and then on from there to the varsity squad. I look forward to 2006 for Hustler...it is going to be a great year! |

Wow, great thread!

I will toss in my :2 cents: here.
This is from almost 9 years of running the same website, talking to others and helping others with their sites when they had problems. My conversations with other amateur sites have always been very blunt and honest, not the glamour, advertising stuff that people say on here. The solo girl craze (I have not personally noticed it any more then usual) is nothing new, there has always been people who thought it was the best and easiest way to make money. The reasoning behind it, which I have always thought was flawed, still exists and has been stated in this thread. Thats model of having xx amount of sites, and making xx amount of sales per day to each and the outcome ,making lots of money. Some people can do this, most cant, as with any business. The reason I think its flawed is because if you cant get traffic to one site, you damn sure are not going to get it to 100 sites. I know allot of people who tried this and 99% of them have shut down. But in general, most sites, not only solo girl or amateur, barely make it, if they make it at all. Even allot of the sites you all hold up and icons and who you envy and try to copy, you would probably be surprised to know the truth - and to me, the truth is not how much a site makes, its how much it actually poskets as profit. the future of sologirl sites is the same as its past. Few will make great money, some will make allot, most will hardly make it. |
