All we are doing here is offering a very good deal to any mpa3 customer to compare NATS and mpa3. We are not bashing mpa3, just doing the usual thing everyone else would do, which is saying that we are better.
If anyone thinks this is unprofessional then I can not help them. I actually think its quite the opposite, offering people something for free to let them truely compare the products. |
Locally on TV Cox Cable and Qwest (the local phone company) have such ads running. Qwest always says "cheaper than Cox Cable" and "faster". Yeah, I think those commercials are pretty tasteless myself.

When did competition in a free market become a bad thing?
I am friends with both parties, and when I say friends, I do not mean, have a drink at a show and call either stand up guys, which they are. Truth is, that they are both good companies, run by guys who are offering great products to our industry. I got to sit in at NAT's update booth last show, and am impressed at updates that are done currently and in the near future. How does that make MPA3 better, and vice versa? If you can't figure out that competition in this particular segment of our industry only puts more money in your pockets, then maybe it's not for you. |

I'm not going to get involved with the drama aspect of this thread, besides saying that when two good companies with two good products fight for marketshare the consumers win. We will see better versions of NATS and MPA because of this little feud.
I've worked with both products. When it came time to put my reputation on one of the products I chose NATS. |
On a personal level, I love the people in both companies.
I only have experience using NATS, and I'm a fan. As far as competition goes, that is a tricky game to be critical of. btw, anyone who is promoting a celeb site right now, you can try promoting Mr Skin via flashcash FREE OF CHARGE. :) |

Ok, I will try to be the grownup one here... Just one thing. We did NOT have a booth in Vegas, we did NOT go after anyone at the show. We had meetings all day everyday with different people who had contacted us to talk to us. So how in gods name could we go after anyone ? Its not like it say " I HAVE NATS " in peoples face.
But if it was so now that we had meetings with several NATS customers, doesn't that then tell you something about your product ? You can try to do business in a normal way instead of trying to bash our company. Please tell me what false accusations I have ever said about you or your product to anyone. Now since you can not do that I suggest that you just try to concentrate on being the best you can be. I don't trash NATS OR go after your customers. If they come to me to get an offer I give it to them, BUT contacting them directly OR publicly, no I don't think so, I rather make a little less a month then being an ass. I love competition. This is a beautiful example of it working in the favor of the consumer. Giving the potential customer the option of comparing his existing solution against NATS is a brilliant move.

Ok, please continue to lie to your self as you are lying to everyone. The truth is that we have never had more customers then what we do right now. You see we don't mind the competition, its you who don't want it. Even though you know just as much as I do that it benefits our customers that we are more then just one company. |

you guys are both ok chaps :) Come one - we have all been on the net doing biz for years - we all know how the game is played. How many times in past years did I give away a higher % for toys, lower prices or give freebies away for design, etc. We are the best, blah, blah and all that just too try and take some market share away from other companies. Competition and biz promo is part of the game. Sometimes I admit I did go a little far and got into some pisses, well so be it... Both of you have good products from what I have read.. Do a spec sheet, list all features of both pieces of software side by side, pro's and con's and let the webmaster / consumer pick what he or she likes. |

I have no idea what MPA was doing or saying in Vegas this year, but some of this rings a familiar bell.
A year ago when I was considering both products, John et. al were very upfront and helpful; Oystein talked trash about NATS and claimed things about it that just weren't true. After that, when I was looking for a DRM solution, I looked at Playa DRM and saw who was involved with it and decided I didn't want to go there. Glad I made that decision. Now I've been looking at members' area software. I like CARMA and probably am going with it, but I never even took a look at one other company's product. Professionalism DOES go a long way. But there's a difference between aggressive marketing and shots at the competition on a board well-established for trash talking --- and honesty in actual one-on-one dealings. I laugh at the first. I make decisions based on the second. |

Garry, our post did not make any false claims about your software. It did not insult you. However you had to come into this thread and turn it into that direction. Ya, would have been nice if you guys would have been like this when we tried to have NATS installed and running. What was it? 4-5 months and thousands spend and we never got the system working and it was for only one site? Sure you gave us back about half the cash we spent but that doesn't mean squat. Was a big waste of time. Even when we could get support to come and look at something they would fix it and never explain or tell us what the problem was, acted like we where bothing them. Sorry our program was small but if this is how your treating the little guys then I would n't want to do bussiness with you.
I know I have kept my mouth shut over this for a long time, but seeing you here touting how great you are while running down someone else really gets me. Let me tell you something. I own a product from Mansion, MAS. I have had it running for years with NO issues. The support has been nothing less than outstanding and they have even custom scripted the members area of the site and it worked the FIRST time. I have ALL Icq logs, emails etc on this and you know I'm not making anything up here for false drama. In fact, we had such bad experiance trying to get your product installed that we have NOT moved fourth with ANY cascanding billing system. No one asked me to post here and this is all I have to say about it. |

I know.. this may be a little off topic.. but I know there are companies that will print checks from the quickbook reports from nats.. does anyone know of a couple of those companies..
