i'd get the SL55 way before a ferrari. spend 20k on rims. another 10 on tires, and you're set. we have a SL in the rage family and riding in that thing is sweeeeet.

Obviously not comparing production numbers and performance.

That's a chicks car.. I'm not quite sure how you spend $10k on tires, I must be missing something.

each his own though :)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing a ferrari or a lambo. However, when one feels the need to continuously show off, it gets quite pathetic to say the least.

I dont need no ferrari.. I have my snowboard!

I can afford a very high end sports car but I cant justify it. I bought myself a new 4x4 truck in july, its my primary transportation... and since July it only has 2600 miles on it. So thats an average of 371 miles a month on my primary vehicle, so if I bought a sports car it may get driven 100 - 200 miles a month... and thats why I cant justify spending $100k on a car thats just going to sit in the garage all the time.

Its bad enough that out of the 5 bikes in my garage, one of them is almost 2 years old and only has 2100 miles on it and I have about $30k invested in it. And no its not a Harley.

Then it's not a priority. You obviously get your speed rush from bikes.
I don't put many miles on any of my sportscars. That's the nice thing about having more than one.A few thousand miles a year is about average on one of them.I drive the M3 for a daily, and that gets maybe 12k a year.

10k on tires?:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I put $350 Pilot Sports on my G35....I know its only a G35 but tire prices don't get much higher than that. Tire prices don't get more expensive with the price of the car :1orglaugh

And why get a F360 or F430 when you can get a Lamborghini Gallardo?

anyone owns a classic ferrari? I would spend money for one since unlike new models they don't depreciate and gain value over time.

They also cost way more. They are cool as hell, but very pricey for a good conditioned one.

Theo 01-29-2006 04:01 PM

Yes, depends how rare the model is, but service cost is like just 10% higher than of a new one. From what I have read 360 and 355 will never become collectible items due to large production line. Maybe in 30+ years from now while for example 388gto although only 2 decades old it goes for $250k+
