Guys, we are a legit company that's been running solid for over 3 years. Our products do not crash computers. If we did crash computers, why would I still be running with the same clients for the full 3 year period. We wouldn't, because we would never convert sales. We know what we're doing, we don't do melicious acts, we don't do anything illegal (under any spyware law). We just make money.
Really eh...then why did you made a detailed post...hell you not even mentioned your "legit company" name... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

some installers do a force, which is really a pain in the ass, it will almost force you to install, or close the window, they keep popping it up about 9 times, until you give up.

Hey...to each their own. Who are any of you guys to criticize how others do business? If you don't believe in spyware/installs/etc. then don't fuck with them.

I personally would never do that to surfers because just like "opt-in" e-mails 75% of the time the surfers do not know what they are getting into.

But who am I to criticize those who want to?

yeah, installs are now what spamming was 4 years ago or so.

pocketkangaroo 04-08-2006 04:59 PM

For such a legit company that offers legit downloads, why not post a link to your stuff?

well normally sure but installs (some at least) effect everyones income. they can change affiliate links, hijack home pages. pop someone elses affiliate code in a window while the sufer is visiting your site. not cool at all.

I find this so interesting, this if you work in porn you cant have ethics and morals.Which is a bullshit excuse for people that wouldnt have morals in any industry they worked in.
If your a scumbag who just wants to make a buck, regardless of who you hurt thats your choice but dont blame adult or its ok its only porn.
I have fixed more family members computers that have garbage on them. We all know surfers dont know what they are clicking on for the most part. This shit feeds on that because if they were aware they wouldnt click on it and it wouldnt be worth money.

I assume that all the whiners and wusses in this thread dont deal with any of the larger adult companies like say CE for example that do toolbar installs - or one of the many other of the largest affiliate programs out there.
If you do then guess youre just being hypocritical cause those programs effect your money supply. I guess most (thats probably a bad assumption since I know most of the whales on GFY use installers) newer adult WMs want to lose out on legal ventures (and no Im not talking about the spyware install crap like coolwebsearch that really does damage to PCs)

You younger newbies need to start opening your eyes and stop acting like all the US citizens I see around here with their heads in the sand.

Go to a media show where all of the large companies get together. You will see exactly how many "ethical" companies do this. It is legal, because in the tos its list what they will do.....most do nothing harmfull...so relax

I'll back Mark up on this. We have a very stringent policy about what goes out over out network and I personally would have a very serious issue with anything that wasn't 100% above board.

And thats the point that most are missing - these guys in this thread are talking about a completely different type of installer than what the pissed off surfers experience (and occasionally us experienced WMs) where there is actual destructive software hijacks etc.
Its kinda like lumping all types of popups/popunders into one thing - they arent all the same and yet in the last 4 years the adult industry has completely toned down the popups(including programs having to retool to offer no console links etc) because a few adult WMs made a large enough noise - and yet the mainstream internet is loaded with popups and the advertising budgets are in the hundreds of millions for popups over there

As far as Im concerned the adult industry is just continuing its fine tradition of shooting itself in the foot at every turn because a few whiney WMs and surfers might get a little offended - waah fucking waah
It sure has never affected my retention with the surfers Ive been sending to revshare for years

As soon you post something working on GFY you will have 5000 people copying excactly what you are doing.
Out of that amount 4980 will have no clue of what they are doing, 2500 will not make any money and 500 of them will do something that might fuckup their niche. 10 of them will succeed in that.
Ofcourse they do not wish to post all their details :2 cents:

Funny thread especially those who try to justify fucking people over because it's 'legit'. Even more funny are those trying to compare the stuff this guy is downloading to the less harmless and removable stuff out there.

The funniest remarks though, have to be from those that seem to think because you trade in sex you can't have any morals. Truly priceless.

As a final comment on this silly thread it's always interesting how many people confuse 'successful' with 'respected'. The two can be leagues apart.

well i have a hard time trusting those install companies. i promoted mediatickets for a while but people were saying how they started redirecting popular sites, etc. so i took them down. anyways, i agree that there are two different kinds of installs. thats why i said some, not all installs effect everyones income. i can't say i've run into a friendly install but then again, i don't go looking for them. most i come across are on tgps and lyrics sites and they either auto install or force install.

as for pop ups, i agree. i don't see what is so wrong with them or why tgps and link lists won't allow them. although unless i am confusing you with someone else your linklist doesn't allow pop ups on submitted sites either.

Furious_Male 04-09-2006 08:11 AM

You are correct - and it has to do with an agreement I made 6 years ago with a few others involved in the free site biz and I will not break my committment to them - although I will tell you that I make my own free sites as well for my LL/Hubs/SE sites that I can guarantee you have popups - and they work fantastic! :)

That's why I said 5¢ to $1 per. I dont' want to mislead so to be honest, 90% of all deals are averaged at 25¢ per US/CA download.

What we will do is create a custom package installer for your users. Based on what you want to offer in your installer to your users, you will be paid for. So if you feel that any one or multple applications are too much, toolbar or not, we can remove them and pay you less any app removed. Or you can take all of them together, which work very smoothly together, and IF, I say IF, the users convert well, you can be paid as high as $1 per complete installation. You get full live login on your stats, country break down on what your installs %'s are and total daily revenue all at you finger tips 24/7.

Run the numbers. Think if you could get 1000 installs a day at a full $1 (we have many affiliates that do). That's good money for the month to ad to your bottomline revenue. No matter who you are!

Actually the last thread I remember on WMW (Im not gonna link it) was split in half about along the same lines as it is in this discussion - and I can remember many discussions in some forums there ranging from the ethics to the business sides and actually I believe the WMs advocating the non-forced installs were the most prolific in those threads
